Hi guys.
What's the difference between my fitness pal app and fat secrets app?
Are they using different calculations in terms of the BMI?
I inserted the same daily nutrition on each and the total calories were different.
BMI = 2600
MyFitness pal = 2309
My fatsecrets = 2651
Diet
5 full eggs
60g whey
30g peanut butter
200g Chicken
30g almonds
50g green beans
50g brocolli
60g whey
30g peanut butter
200g Steak
10ml olive oil
50 green beans
50g brocolli
60g whey
30g peanut butter

I prefer fatsecret because you get local food types and their corresponding values, Id say just pick one and stick to using one app. Not sure why the calculations differ between the two they should be in the same region at least, few cals out wont make a difference, but looking at that figues there is almost a 300cal difference

When entering food it is important to be as specific as possible about the brand and type your are using. Also check that the given info is the same as what's on the nutritional info table.

Try and scan as many of the bar codes of products your using so you get the exact match.

Thanks guys. I'll do the bar code scan feature, and stick to 1 app.
Another quick question.
My stats
Age : 26
Weight : 98
Height : 175cm
BMR = 2107
BMR = 3266 @ Mod 1.55
BMR = 2613 @ 20% deficit for fat loss
1. Do I keep my calorie intake at 2613 even on a non - workout day? Or
2. Do I keep my calorie intake at 2107 on a non - workout day?
What is the correct method around this?

Firstly big ups on using an app to monitor calorie consumption! In my experince it really helps...
I found fat secret more user friendly, although dont expect accuracy from its exercise category - I skipped it completely. We all burn calories at diffrent rates and workout at very diffrent intensity so I just dont trust it
As for adjusting your intake on training and non training days :
On non training days your body is in recovery, and is working hard to repair the damage you did in the gym. In order for it to execute this function properly it needs energy, which obviously come from what you throw down the hatch. So IMO no keep your intake stable...
Remember that you want to maintain as much muscle as possible during fat loss, so aim to lose around .5kg a week... Most of my research has shown it to be an ideal number... Adjust your calories as you need to, weekly weigh ins and discipline will help you learn your individual needs, no calculation or formula is a hard and fast rule... Use them as guide lines and do what your body needs.
Im too lazy to post sources but double check the info if you want.
Good luck man!!!
