Why only 3 days? I just can't see one hitting every muscle properly with only 3 days in the gym unless it is for 3 hours at a time. For example abs and calves need to be done twice a week which means you need to gym atleast four times a week.

1: Legs
2: Push
3: Pull
You can execute that with a day off in between (maybe cardio) and add something on Saturday (cardio/ circuit/ whole body day). Or do each of those directly after each other, take 1 day off, then start over.

@Pyro, it seems that way, but a beginner doesn't need as many different workouts / sets per muscle as you or I would.
It is actually crazy how much some guys train. My coach is an SA Champ (who also trained Marius Dohne) and he swears by 3 days a week!! I know, seems crazy but it's true, people overtrain because they enjoy it so much. Not overtraining in the sense of doing damage, but in the sense of pointless effort.
I have just been put back onto a 4 day program, even though I can train as often as I like.
As far as I am concerned, 3 days is enough to build muscle mass (lean or bulk) and when you reach the point where you need to start moulding and shaping you can add in extra "fancy" sets, isolation, drop sets etc. But this IMO should only be done once you have put on plenty of mass.
HOWEVER! I do feel that if you are on a cycle and you supplement correctly, you do heal/repair a lot quicker in which case you can "KLAP" it harder. But this should be temporary.....
