Metabolism was created by Spyks23
Good morning

I would like to know how I can test my metabolism.

I have been doing a lot of cardio and exersises but cant seem to shake of all the fat around the waist.

Diet is important, I know but is there a way to work out what your metabolism is or should I rather see a dietician?

Thanks for a super forum.

Just diet. And I would recommend going to a dietician.

I always considered myself as having a slow motab...always been big and fat...got my diet sorted and been dropping kg's like it's going out of fasion. Dropped 5kg of fat in 4 weeks and 5% bf. Just get the diet sorted and keep training. You will drop the kg's quick sticks.

You can test your thyroid levels with a blood test.

As Pyro has said, you could have your thyroid levels checked. T4/T3. High levels of these would imply a higher metabolism.

You could also opt for having TSH (thyroid stimulating hormone) checked. With this, higher levels of TSH would correlate to a slower metabolism.

Last I checked, TSH test was cheaper.

That said, nail your diet and cardio and the abs will follow.

The thing is especially for someone young(ish) that exercises often your metabolism should be sky high. Unless! You are under eating. In that case your body simply won't increase your metabolism until it gets the energy that it needs somewhere else. It's basically your bodies way of protecting itself from starvation.

What are your macros and calories for the day? Also what would be a 'bad' cheat meal?

NB! You need to cook your oats! It decreases the GI of the oats and makes it edible I.m.o.

A whole pizza?? I wish I could eat that much! :( With your cheat meals it is important to try and limit them to under a thousand calories. A pizza for example is about 2000-3000 calories. ;) Do you drink alcohol? Smoke? Kuier every night till late?

@The oats thing: Okay I see bro nice one.

Eish I'd love to eat a whole pizza and I'd have no problem doing it... But my diet is more important at the moment.

I used to eat a whole frigging large thick base flipping scooters pizza... I've stopped that nonsense now... I rather order a medium... and don't eat the whole thing... as a consequence I am down about 5kg... self control is tough...

Drunk food at this time of the morning.

Your diet is really good and I have been pondering a little bit about why you aren't losing weight. What does your training and cardio look like? We can try something new but I first want to know every little detail. What supps/multivit/etc do you take?

In an effort of further understanding diets and stuff I am asking this question...
Is this very low carb? or are you getting carbs in through the veg?

From my research, which obviously is not exhaustive, it would prob not be good to be on this long term? should you not increase the carbs and fats a bit? How long have you been eating like this (sorry if I missed where you posted it)?
