I have never been on tabs to loose weight BUT NOW I am desperate. My friend has been on Venom that Bites but he hardly sleeps (he is up all day and maybe goes to bed at 3am daily). Is there anything just as good and effective that you could recommend. I have been through menopause and gained 30kgs but 2 years later Im off all medication and ready to go. pls help

I am 58yrs young/158cm tall/weigh 88kgs (2 yrs ago I weighed 58kgs until I got ill)/ I don't have any medical problems;had my thyroid and bloods checked etc a month ago and doc says it was the cortisol which i haven't been taking since 2015. But he did tell me to loose weight so I do walk alot but as from this week I have enrolled at a gym. I really am desperate and I don't love what I have to wake up to daily!!!!

I know there is no quick fix but when I saw my friend who is on Venom I was so shocked. I dont want to take something that will have an adverse effect on me. He needed to kick start his weightloss and therefore took and is still taking venom but does very little exercise. I have started exercising....walking which i love (Brisk)since June and have been to 2 popup gym classes (in the park) but there is just no weightloss or difference in my body.

Hi MammaB, my advice to actually read the forum. There are plenty of ways to lose fat/weight on this forum.

Start in the dieting section and you will be surprised at how much and how quickly you can lose weight without putting your body through abuse/stress. From personal experience i can tell you that you won't need to start eating cardboard and cabbage for the rest of your life, but you will still be able to eat great tasting meals while maintaining a well balance diet.
Knowledge is power especially when it comes to your body.

As for the Venom. just because your friend lost weight it does not mean you will either. All our bodies react to things differently. So play around with your diet and find what works for you.

My wife was in the same position as you and she made changes then lost the extra 30kg's she picked up.

Mamma is 58...don't think harsh substances like t3 is a good idea...fff should be OK if all in check with her as she says...sensible diet and some cardio n weights at gym..keep at it..u will get results. Slow and steady.

thank you for your consideration. I will def get onto the FFF. I posted that I have been walking for some time now and yesterday I did my 1st cardio hour. It was very good. No dizziness or nausea and I lasted the entire 1hr. I just feel very tired. The problem is that I dont eat. I have only had 2sausages and coffee for the day. I ahve to start eating properly and post what i do. Thanks again guys!!!

Hi MammaB,

Welcome to the forum.

Please post your Diet. No amount of pills will fix a bad Diet and They all have some or other side effect. Let us help. . We need to know exactly what you eat, and the amount. Your typical day. Take a small notebook and write down everything you eat tomorrow, with the weight and post it here. We can then tweak / adjust your current diet to better suit.

Do you know how much calories you consume? And the macro split? (how much protein / fat / carbs)

Be Humble, Be Hungry, Be the Hardest worker in the room!

Here you go MammaB. Read these and it will give you a nice guideline of where to start.
Then follow GrootD's advice and track what you eat. I found that most people are actually overeating and any small changes usually result in decent weight loss.

Once you get things sorted here i gaurantee you will see positive changes. Eventually once you hit a plateau you can start looking at other tricks like keto

Thank you GrootD I think some of the problem is that I dont eat that well....but since i started exercising last week i am becoming hungry. I have started this week to eat some breakfast so let me track that for a month and then post what i eat to see if that brings about a change right.

Brilliant. I have also been reading up in the diet section but some of the food is just too much for me. I normally equip myself with knowledge and Im a slow starter but I will get there. Will take note of the links. Thanks so much!!!

Yes, that is exactly the problem. Eating too little will also make weight loss difficult.

Breakfast is very important, so that is a step in the right direction. Eat something as soon as you wake up. It gets the metabolism going.

Some other basic tips, everybody should be doing:

Try to have a protein with every meal.

Dont have carbs with supper. Try to have your carbs in the morning and midday.

And of course, stay away from sugar.

Dont be shy about posting what you currently eat. A month is a long time, and we could give you some advice right now.

Please also remember that this takes some time, and slow and steady fat loss is exactly what you are looking for.

Be Humble, Be Hungry, Be the Hardest worker in the room!

You hit it on the head....I am shy about posting what I eat and before anyone chops off my head let me tell you why. About 2 yrs ago when i got sick I lost appetite for food but I would drink loads of coffee and never feel hungry and had only one meal a day - supper and I was inactive hence the weight gain. My family cooks alot of pasta which I have decided to stay away from as I think I am intolerant to carbs. For 2 week now I have not had any pasta. Let me give you an idea of what I ate today. 4 spoons of Oats for breakfast with low fat milk - no sugar. A mielie for lunch and a 1/4 roast chicken for supper. I just find that i cant eat lunch as I do get nauseous if I eat to much - not sure if its a mind thing. Ill have a fruit as well in the day- An apple. I have read Hoosains links ad wanted to ask do you think I should perhaps do green veggie smoothies which I really liked. and Yes I want to loose slowly and forever!!!Thanks again!!!

I think I need to eat more. Im not eating enough as you will read in my earlier response to you. The thought of eating alot of food?? mmmmmm The only thing I measured today was the oats 250gr with 100gm milk and I forgot to measure the chicken breast but it as a quarter and it was sweetcorn (a small mielie). I wrote that down in my diary. I can see everyone shaking their heads I know this is not enough right. Im still trying to work out Hoosains link to calculate how much I need to eat but its alot to understand and work out but I'll get there. Thanks so much guys!!!!
