Testosterone Propionate, and flu symptoms

I watched a video, of Dr. Rand, answering a TRT question, from a guy who uses

Testosterone Propionate 200mg / week, and
Deca-durabolin 200mg / week

For TRT.


In the video, Dr. Rand says – why use a short ester, like Testosterone Propionate, because it can give you flu-like symptoms.

I don’t know how to ask this question.
Is this, “flu-like symptoms”, a common thing in using gear ? Is it only for short esters, or does it also happen with long esters ?

And why does this happen ?

Test flu is weird. It is obviously not the real flu. But in my case it was the harsh adjustment to high e2 that caused somewhat flu like symptoms. Ie wanting to sleep 24.7 sweating and some general sick feeling.

But prop wont necessarily cause that. Test is test.

Sorry, I forgot to mention on thing in the letter that Dr. Rand was replying to. What caught my attention was more the flu symptoms, which I wanted to ask about.


The writer wrote in that he combines Deca with his Test, because of problems with his joints. And he says that Deca helps him with the joint pain.

Still... they would maybe have it at 150mg test and 50mg deca. But 200 and 200. Its a fucken mini cycle...

Anecdotally, I've been on a Mix of 200 Test C and 200 Test P a week (First cycle). On Adding the Test P, I didn't get any symptoms besides a strength boost. However, Test E seems to give me the 'Test Flu'. So I stay away from it.

I always had flu-like symptoms in the 2nd to 3rd week with each and every cycle no matter what compounds.

Any test gives me a snotty nose week2 or 3 for a day or two then its gone.

I got test flu once from a mild cycle, mid-summer. I had some sinus blockage and fatigue but was fine after a couple of days. Never got it again.
