Christians and the use of steroids was created by Happyraven
Right, without trying to start a mass hate thread, i am just curious to know how a Christian (and i am not talking about someone who randomly calls themself a Christian, but someone who lives the lifestyle) justifies the use of gear? Again, i dont wanna start a hate thread but just rather curious. If i'm honest, it is something that i battle with, the one side of my consience is saying its ok, and the other says that its wrong.. any thoughts?

Why should it be wrong? You are not doing anything bad. I know a minister that uses steroids...

I would think the key here is USE steroids, not ABUSE it...

LOL, now thats funny. For me it boils down to motive. If my motive is to impress the chicks, then i belive its wrong as i am married, but if its for self motivation, then by all means....well, thats the way i see it

Look I'm not religious but.....

I think you need to be careful when mistaking society's misgivings that steroids are bad and taking a conscious and educated choice to use something for self improvement. Steroids are illegal because its seen as something that's abused, but most steroid users are the most healthy people you'll ever meet, they know there body and the effects of what they put in their body, food/supplements/steroids, more then anyone.

If you know what you doing to your body and are happy with the risks, shouldn't be seen as a sin, the government is trying to protect uneducated masses the same way they don't allow you to self prescribe scheduled drugs, because they know most people don't know what they doing. Just wish, you could sign off that you accept risks and get a doctor who specializes in this field to hook you up/monitor etc.

The same argument is there for recreational drugs, (I'm not a user) but if it was legal we could keep better tabs on it and restrict consumption.

I don't want to rattle the applecart here, but the way I see it is that if you are not happy with the looks and body you were born with and enhance or improve it by means of steroid use, then would it not be a sin.....???

If everybody does it, is it still cheating?

You make some valid points, but the line above is what to me, makes me question MY use of steroids. I mean lets face it, if i don't get a script for gear, then i am getting it illegaly and hence breaking the law.
Like i said, this is just MY opinion and i am in no way rebuking anyone, i mean, i myself use... on an anual basis so i am the last one to throw a stone....

Yeah,

Religion is a tough one, also based on perception, vanity is a sin isn't it, and that includes motivation based on view of yourself ? So depends on how fundamental you are... The body is a temple etc. Depends how you take it....

Guess its easier for me as I only have myself to answer to, and the law, bastards....

I agree with Wayne 100%.
Any addiction equals a new god to you.
Which effectively means you are worshipping roids as well as the gym...
Keep your heart on God while on the gear, and you'll know when enough is enough...

I use to improve my size and strength in order to be able to defend myself and others again those who would bring evil upon us !

I have lots of ideas. Trouble is, most of them suck.

Hey Dude,

The fact that you are wondering means that your concious is and will always bother you, you need to really convince yourself that it is not a sin, otherwise you will think about this all the time.

Do you think having a glass of wine is sin? Or do you rather believe that having a bottle of wine every night is sin? Then again there is no Luke warm, only HOT or COLD its either yes or no?

My view, no it is not a sin God put you on earth to rule all living on earth, improving yourself is not a sin. Well your body does produce natural steroids does'nt it? I have never heard of anyone's lungs producing Tar ? Or a Liver producing Alchol? Building a stronger temple for your GOD cannot be wrong.

Greatings :weights

Get in line buddy.

If you always put limit on everything you do, physical or anything else. It will spread into your work and into your life. There are no limits. There are only plateaus, and you must not stay there, you must go beyond them.

Agree 100%.

With regards to the "your body is a temple" most of the users are super health consious. Had the same talk a while back - I firmly believe the average gyming, dieting steroid user is looking 10x better after himself than my work-collegue that eats KFC 5x a week and MacDonalds over the weekend because he thinks preparing food is beneath him. @ Raven - who do you think is looking after his body better? You or my collegue?

If you believe in God or who ever is in fashion these days ...

Then God created everything right???

The juice came from God, right??

Then you using Gods creation to better yourself = not a naughty action

Unless you saying he created evil!!?? = God is evil

Never fraternize with them as equals, never accept them as your social equals or they will devour you, they will destroy you.

Oh, gosh, relegion is quite a messy subject,
@ acid, Basically my understanding is...

Yes, God created Evil, cos the devil was once upon a time the greatest servant of god, in fact according to scriptures, he was also the teacher of angels, so highly was he regarded...but it was his pride that led to his downfall, his refusal to bow down to man....So long story short, he swore that he could lead all of mankind astray so as to show God they do not deserve to be called the best of creation! So today we live in this world as a test...As to why i think we are the best of creation, how can we when angels never sin and we sin everyday....That would be it, I say its cos we sin then turn to God for forgiveness, the fact that we have the choice to sin and not give a damn or sin and repent for it is what makes us better then Angels in God's eye....

As to steriods, it was created by man using knowledge God has given him, as to how it is used, thats the problem, use it for good or bad, so I say there is nothing wrong with steroids, its the user and how he uses/abuses it...
