Pre workouts and heart issues was created by unknown
Gooday everyone i trust u are all well

I want to ask a question with regaurds to pre workouts

I have been taking pre workouts for the past 3 years but laitly have been having random heart palpitations. During the day. This only happens the next day after taking the pre workout

So i have stopped taking it and the palpitations have stopped but they do come every now and then

I want to ask does this cause damage tho the heart and will they ever go away ?

If any damage was caused will it heal ?

Thankyou

I'm not sure what preworkouts you take or what the active ingredients are, but heart palpitations are very common with any type of stimulant. You even sometimes land up with PVC's (premature ventricular contractions). I personally found it took around 3 months after stopping certain stimulants for them to completely go away. However if you are worried a stress ECG would be your best bet in seeing what the heart is doing under load, they cardiologist would also do some other tests and measurements on your heart. Its not cheap, around 4.5k so I'm not sure if its necessary, just giving you some light around it.

Hi,

I have the same happen to me with some pre-workouts. I train late at night, hit the gym at about 8pm and go to bed at 11pm and by that time the pre hasnt worked out yet and I get palpitation around bed time and end up staying awake til sometimes 2am for them to stop. I switched over to a softer pre such as amino pre fro nutritech and doing better.

Just a few questions do you smoke/vape? And do you enjoy the odd weed now and then or daily? This can also have an effect.

no expert, but stimulants don't work for me - not worth the palpitations

Have you considered a stimulant free pre workout?
