You know all of them work, however some are more stimulating at low doses than others. Abilify worked great but sleeping is my issue and it kept me up at night, but the nice thing about it is it's activating at the lowest of doses. Risperdal is another option which I used for long periods but what works works best best me is 1.25mg zyprexa at night, early like around 7, it starts to get me tired and by 9 I'm doing my mindfulness app (calm) and off to lala land before the 10 minute session is done, I don't wakeup with a hang over either. The biggest trick to antipsychotics is finding your sweet spot, for example if my life is in a shambles and my mind is extremely active, that dose of zyprexa can go as high as 5mg (it won't need to be longer than 1 day) before it puts the brakes on hard but the positive is I get sleep. No focus supplement or drug works as well as good food, sleep (the most important) and exercise.
I tried for a few years in my life to find the ultimate limitless stack, I took everything that had some rating for focus, from donepezil, memantine, provigil, every anti depressant that was said to work right down to every nootropic I could find, I went as high as 108mg Concerta twice a day and stacked Strattera to work in the background while I topup with methylphenidate in the evening.
I lost emotions during the process and what I know am prepared to do is give my best for a good position of the day and then I need to turn off the noise, I'm going to be moving back to the ocean where it's quite and peaceful for my head which might allow me to further lower or remove the antipsychotic, but that was the game changer when I gave it time to work. I also take clonidine which is centrally acting which I find is my problem and Lowe that sympathetic activity. Over stimulating turns the whole brain on, when using antipsychotics at micro doses they become agonists in the prefrontal cortex and also slows down a busy mind, stimulating increases all activity in the brain which creates anxiety which lowers concentration and causes a loop effect where by you need higher doses of stimulants.

00pump wrote: That is always a problem.. Its pretty much weighing up the pro and the con. Sleep is more important to me than anything else, because I've spent more nights than I can count being wide awake. Benzo sleeping meds do nothing and that goes down to large doses of flunitrazepam. Also as you pointed out dose is key, abilify didn't increase my appetite and I found low doses very stimulating. The big problem drugs i find is with seroquel or remeron and paxil, etc. I found if you needed help with that route you need something like molipaxan which is weight neutral or something stimulating like vortioxetine or right the way to the other end and include a decent dose of wellbutrin. Strattera can also put the breaks on things very quick with regards to appetite, but I honestly hated all of these routes, it works until it doesn't. The zyprexa without a stimulant you are going to have metabolic issues, specially late at night when you couldn't care, using Concerta with it helps to a point but the evenings are the problem still. I find being on 70mg Vyvanse is all I need and then put in the effort with exercise and running Glucophage in the background with a list of other things. I think its more of a head game to be honest, if you give into the carb cravings you are going to spin out, I had my insulin over 18 but with the help of 2000mg Glucophage I have that down to just over 4 and the dose is dropped to 500mg (not for insulin but anti aging). I personally don't believe you pickup a kg if you putting the effort in and eating clean. I guess the topic could be debated to no end. I do throw this out, give someone a benzo sleeping tablet, it doesn't matter if it's zolpidem, dormicum or longer acting stilnox mr or dormnoct, I see people eat everything in sight if they don't take their med and head straight to bed and the impulse is far worse than a low dose antipsychotic. The last thing I want is to feel a chemical lobotomy, so it has to be run at the absolute lowest dose, there are times that I quarter a 2,5mg..
If you want the heavy hitter tranquilizers you honestly need a quarter 25mg clozapine and you will sleep to the morning and that drug can be used at 900mg for schizophrenia, but the problem with clozapine is you have no cognitive benefit, well certainly not down at that dose and that drug is profound for metabolic syndrome, so I think it's finding the right dose that you don't become someone you not and lose your personality or lose your ambitions. Antipsychotics do have a bad stigma amongst people that don't know them, the thing is its pretty easy, if it doesn't work then just stop the medication.
Sorry for the rant and all over the show, thoughts come and go while I type on this phone.
