Vitamins or not? was created by Osborne
Hi,

What's your opinion on vitamins? I always just took a one a day multi vitamin. But have recently (after reading a few articles) gone out and bought EVERYTHING that is recommended.

It gets a bit costly, and makes me feel a little ill at times.

Is it worth it? I dont feel any different to when I didnt take them?

Vitamins are a very important part of your daily intake. If you buy a good product like Animal Pak then you don't have to get a shopping trolley full of different products.

If everybody does it, is it still cheating?

Yep take the vitamins, you may not feel different when on them but they do help. Maybe try taking twice or three times a day, just split the recommended dose instead of taking it at once

I really think its worth it! It also depends on what you take. I've tried lots of multi vits but the one i could really feel make a diff is ON Opti Men - just a pitty its too good for the SA market and therefor had to be taken off the shelves:(

If you train hard you need a decent multi vitamin like animal pack. If you train EXTREME, training twice a day, weights and cardio you going to need 2 packs.

It is only a waste of money until you get sick or fatigued and can't train.

For the average coach potato, yes maybe they wont need as much. But remember our bodies require vitamins, and running low on something for to long can cause a medical condition.

Having the correct vitamins in your body can prevent you from developing chronic illnesses.

You will not get all the vitamins you need from food alone, it is simple too difficult. It is the FIRST supplement that should be consumed for a health and vibrant life.

I have tried a new multi vit and Got this new Multibionta The price is not bad but it is a Ultra vitamin. It has the minerals and vitamins the it has probiotics in as well. Yesterday i saw a platinum one with herbs as well. And i could really feel a diff with this Vit. Just some food for thought:P

Ag pump to be honest i my pharmacist got it cheaper for me. But on dischem shelves it goes for about R105 for a months supply. I spoke to my pharmacist and he said it is the best multi he ever kept on his shelves.

oh yes I just feel it needs a little more B vits. So incorporated with a b com shot it works great

Thanks for all the feedback!

So it seems most of you only take some sort of multi vitamin?

I take a one a day multi vitamin, plus individual tabs of the following. Vanadium (2), Chromium (1), Vitamin C (2), Omega 3 (3), Iron (1), Magnesium (1), Calcium (3).

To top it off Im now taking anavar and clen as well. I need an extra bag just to carry all the pills around!!!

I went for this mix of vitamins after reading an SA bodybuilding mag recommending these vits and minerals.

I need to get some multi's in the next week or so. This month i tried SSN's multivit. Im sure its not a bad product but i'll play around for the next few months.

So Roozer i can just ask dischem for Multibionta? Weird name! Will try it out. Keen on using animal pack but it costs a arm and a leg.

Fakey apperntly opti men has a ingredient that is a controled substance in SA. Think im going to phone the agents today to hear what real story is. I see rage nutrition still sells it online for R289. Not bad!

My first multivitamin was Multibionta = not bad, then tried ON Optimen = better, switched over to Animal Pak = best ! I can really feel the difference.
Apparently the banned substance in ON Optimen increases libido.....I can't see why that is such a bad thing??

If everybody does it, is it still cheating?

The controlled substance is called damania (dont know spelling) - it is a libido enhancer.

Optimum said they are reformulating optimen to comply but im sure it will be some time before it is back on our shelves.

I would like to try Gaspari's Anavite but i cant find it in SA yet. Its got some great additional things and no half-hearted blends with the kitchen sink mixed somewhere in a blend.

So it seems the general consensus is to only take a decent multi vit and not all the individual tabs Im currently taking along with the multi vit?

Take a multi vit (a good one if possible), vitamin C, EFAs (you don't need iron, it's usually in a multi vit and mineral complex). As for calcium, get one that is complexed with magnesium if you are short on calcium.
