ok so, late december my knee randomly stiffened up and starting hurting...

long story short iv seen a knee specialist, had a MRI done and he told me i have a stress crack in my knee and the surrounding cartilage is damaged aswell.. he tells me its from going 'ass to grass' on the squats.

my knee is still recovering, iv been training calves and upper body but I havnt had a quad pump in months :( :( :( :(

any advice?

Who's the Knee Doc?
Dr Ponky??

You say still recovering. From what?
The initial injury?
Or surgery?

Are you doing Physio or other rehab?

No names haha, well i saw the doc about 4 weeks ago and at that stage he told me another 6 weeks for the bone to heal and he said hopefully the cartilage will heal. So no i havnt had any surgery and im hoping to avoid that. He told me all i can do in the meantime is cycle and that ideally i should never train my legs with weights again.

I can say I saw a doc at the claremont sports science centre. He didnt advise me on anything further, basically took my R700 for the consultation just to look at my MRI and tell me its damaged.

Damage to a load joint take's a lot of time to heal more often then not knees don't heal 100%

My advice is go and see an orthopedic surgeon and let him have a look, then fisio is a must,

as for training id say don't try and go heavy as you could hinder the healing process but go light witch is uncomfortable and do a few reps at most, but i would baby it for the full 6 weeks at least bro
