Horse shampoo was created by FIllet
In speaking to a hair stylist this weekend with over 40 yrs experience I was given some serious info with regards to DHT and hair thickening, HORSE SHAMPOO, equiline and mane and tail both available at dischem, what it does is thickens your hair drastically. Dht will make your hair thinner each time a strand falls out but the horse shampoo is so intense it continues to thicken your hair and open the follicles. Be sure to use a good conditioner afterwards. FYI for those of you who get thinner hair whilst on cycle. Only use four times per week.

This is interesting... I'm not one that worry about hair loss, because I shave my head in the summer anyway, but is this shampoo real horse shampoo or is that only the name? Didn't think a pharmacy would be allowed to sell veterinary products, but if it works then why not I guess.

Pure horse shampoo boss, they sell it in dischem as it has no harmful ingredients. You can get ones made for men but they are hardly strong enough. After using mine for the first time last night I can already see more fullness.

The other three days of the week I used hair energiser Vichy Dercos Shampoo which is also cheap and everyday I used Regaine minoxidl, so if I can gain small and fine hair from regaine (FDA approved) the horse shampoo will increase its volume and dht will battle to kill it.

Keep us updated please. I receive many emails about guys wanting advice on thinning hair and now I can send them here.

Products intended for animals often work far better than human equivalents, for example the Teat/Udder cream used on dairy animals work wonders for cracked heels.

Not the first time I've heard about this.

Going to pop into dischem today before gym.

Why do you need thicker hair lady if you don't mind my asking?

I still have around 90% of my hair, just taking precautionary measures to keep it. I actually find my hair does not thin on cycle but when I am off I notice it. WEIRD

Another popular choice is Bob Martin's conditioning tablets. I've heard hair-dresser's recommend it for faster hair growth - and seen anecdotal evidence, problem is it will encourage hair growth on more than just your cranium ;)

I personally won't suggest this, especially for the ladies. These horseshampoos were made for horses' hair. Anyone who has touched a horse's mane or tail will know that it's hard, rough hair. I don't even wash my own horse's tail with it as it dries it out noticeably. My horse, being a show/competitive horse, has her hair washed with baby shampoo mixed with Bay Rum/Placenta/Bergamot Essence. Horse Shampoo wasn't made for human hair, and my one friend who used it also complained about a dry scalp without me even telling her anything. AND she noticed no improvement in thickness.

My suggestion would be to get Bergamot Essence and Bay Rum, also from Dischem, super super cheap. Either mix those 2 into your normal shampoo or spray onto your scalp after washing and massage that in. After my horse got bitten by a snake, her bottom secion of the tail rotted off, I got the hair growing again with a mix of Placenta, Bay Rum and Bergamot Essence applied twice daily.

You also get supplements for hair, skin and nails from Dischem. About R50 for 2 months' supply if you buy the Dischem brand :)

If you want something you've never had, then do something you've never done.

I have been okay thus far Miss F, use a strong conditioner after and let it soak for about 3 minutes but lets see what the future brings. Will report back anomalies.

That's good Fillet - if it works for you that's great. Each to his own, in my mind it just seems a bit harsh on the softer human hair (especially the ladies')as opposed to the thick horse hair. But do keep in mind the Bay Rum/Placenta/Bergamot Essence. There are many proven studies and I can also vouch for it as it has worked wonders for my horse who lost a part of her tail (now unnoticeable, and also my sister who has an overactive thyroid (severe hairloss). And it's DIRT cheap. I swear by it now. I also use the Hair,Skin and Nails formula from Dischem. I myself noticed a definite improvement in hair thickness and growthrate.

If you want something you've never had, then do something you've never done.

howzit Fillet,

I am also battling with thinning of my hair especially on the front part of my scull I have used minoxidil, the procapil hair growth kit from pro-sana, and this shampoo for horses, everything only worked a little by making my hair grow but not thickening the thinning hair. is there not maybe a supplement that inhibits DHT?

@Admin or any of the Mods, help would be appreciated regarding the above please.

Its all working very well for me Christian but again all bodies different. MA would know better but I think finesteride propecia is the alternative, don't like the sides so I would rather go bald. I know on a lot of case studies people who used it for prolonged periods suffered ED for up to a year and more, complete sexual dysfunction bud. I would rather be proud and bald like the Vin d's, Bruce Willis and the Rocks of this world then give up my sex drive etc.

You are right, it's better to loose all your hair before using finesteride.

thanx Fillet,

I have heard in the past that propecia is bad, and yes I do agree with you and Admin, its not worth having hair with all those side effects.

thanx for the info guys much appreciated, and also being bald runs in the family so guess I will have to get used to it.

keep well guys

Just on a side note bro I deal with many women in their late 20's and early 30's, reps - attractive, and I always ask them about balding men to which mostly they reply it does not bother them. Perhaps growing up with their dads who were balding they got used to it and it became acceptable. Take care of the rest of yourself and never lose confidence, good bod, well dressed, charming etc. This is all attractive for women especially confident men. there is more to life then just hair dude.

My doctor recommended Avodarte for hairloss - apparently much less sides than finpecia and you take it eod only. It is a drug used to treat enlarged prostates. Have any of you heard about Avodarte for hairless?

It contains dutasteride and finesteride so I see no difference. Expect the sides and problems with getting and maintaining erections

Hey bud, every man to himself at the end of the day. If you google permanent side effects of finesteride you will shit yourself. I choose sexual health over hair but that is just me AND probably a whole lot more. Keep your mane to attract women, what's the point if it does not work and for some the side effecvts are permanent. I don't play with drugs that don't have a cure... IMO
