i wonder how many of u have read lee priets status update about marius dohne.

I understand Lee's point of view... God isn't interested in someone taking a title when they taking illegal substances and others are better conditioned.. He will win if he is the best regardless if he believes in God or not.. But I do like the way he isn't afraid to state his faith..

That way of thinking has always irritated me, when someone scores a try and then thanks god??? Does that mean God likes them more than the opposing players.

Personally I would send Marius a book by Richard Dawkins " The God Delusion " - once he has read that he can spend all his extra time and energy on his training.

I think this could become a touchy subject, each individual has their own beliefs which they one day will give an account for. His praise to God is his submission to God in thanksgiving based on his faith in God for all that God has done for him and the grace given to him to accomplish all that he has accomplished.
As I said though this could become very touchy, lets respect each others views and opinions, each man will decide his belief system and give an account.

We're all more than capable of having discussions about politics, drugs, women etc etc but as soon as someone says something remotely atheist they get flamed & targeted quite viciously.

If people can't handle talking about it without resorting to abuse then they should take themselves out of the conversation.

Marius never seem that religious type in the past, it was only after his medical problems recently that he started with the praises. He even used a christian track for his routine at the olympia instead of his usual linkin park. At the gym he says a prayer as well.

Religion is a dangerous topic... lets see how long before this thread gets closed...

The reason I say this is a touchy subject is that some of the worlds worst wars were fought over religion, based on some individuals misinterpretation of certain scriptures all in the name of God.
Christianity IMO is a relationship between you and God based on Faith(A firm belief in something without logical proof).
If any man be an atheist I will not flame you for your belief system it is your choice.

TSG there is something about suffering and pain that causes you to either be broken or submit to a higher power, anyone having suffered and come through victorius knows this, where it drives you will be based upon your own responses to this stimulus. In my case and many others it drove me to my knees.

But I don't want to go off topic. Lee Priest and Marius are great bodybuilders I admire and respect both of their dedication and commitment to the sport.
Lee's thoughts are just that, his thoughts.

bewteen the 2 I'd put money on Priest. He looks like he can scrap a little bit. Marius would just try and stare him down with his own version of "Blue Steel"...

marius has a conviction for gbh. At a supplement store in durban they have nick named him nostrils cos every single poster u see him in you are looking up his nostrils. personally abusing drugs such as steroids to the point where your kidneys are failing is idiotic, then when u come off steroids and half your protein and do what a guru tells u its not the work of god it is the work of common sense and medical knowledge...its not like he recovered from an incurable disease in a miraculous way.then that is the work of god. i agree with lee 100%.

lol, maybe his recovery is not the miracle, but the fact that he listened to advice... that is the miracle...

I say if we get Vernon Koekemoer to train Marius for a week he will walk away with the Olympia.

Sorta flame,I never flame him out right,I think he is one of sa's best,no doubting that but he gets on a stage to get judged so I am just giving me opinions on that, I think this whole praising the lord for fixing something he did on his own and it was actually george farah that fixed him is a little over the top. I do not discredit marius for what he has achieved,do I think he has the ability to better his physique?no,he has gentic flaws that will limit him such as high quad tie ins,genetically flat chest where the other guys have full chest muscle bellies... Its just my opinion,if u call that flamming then yes it is

Its always health or financial problems that lets people "re discover" religeon. I find it so ironic and semi pathetic
