Manufacturer's Description:

Nolvadex, is the chemical name for tamoxifen citrate which is a non-steroidal agent with anti-estrogenic properties. The drug is technically an estrogen agonist/antagonist, which binds to estrogen receptors in various target tissues and estrogen is blocked from having any negative estrogenic related effect. Most forms of breast cancer are estrogen responsive, tamoxifen citrate has proven to block its action in these cells. It is also utilized successfully as a preventative measure for those predisposed to breast cancer.

Tamoxifen is able to increase production of FSH (follicle stimulating hormone) and LH (luteinizing hormone) in the male body. It does this by blocking the negative feedback inhibition caused by estrogen at the hypothalamus and pituitary. A higher release of LH can stimulate the Leydig’s cells in the testes to begin producing more testosterone, as well as having a positive impact on serum testosterone level. Tamoxifen ultimately helps restore a balance in hormone levels.

The use estrogen antagonists such as Nolvadex or Clomid may be sufficient to stimulate testosterone, especially after use of a shorter steroid cycle. With longer cycles it would be advisable to include the use of HCG (Human Chorionic Gonadotropin), which mimics the action of LH.

A typical daily dosage for men is in the range of 10 to 30mg, Nolvadex should be administered around the time exogenous steroid/testosterone levels begin dropping. It should be continued for a few weeks or until natural testosterone levels have normalized. Women have also utilized Nolvadex in an effort to reduce the effect of their own endogenous estrogen levels in order to lower body fat percentages, especially in areas like the hips and thighs. By manipulating the effect of estrogen in woman can bring about side effects such as hot flashes, menstrual irregularities as well as complications with the reproductive system.
