You medical aid is is really vast and totally dependant on so many factors, it is easy to choose one that is not suited for you. I suggest you see a medical aid broker, you don't pay a cent for the consultation and they will take all your needs into account when they advise you.

Perhaps someone can correct me, but your aid won't cover for a test unless it is prescribed by a doctor, and then even some tests might not be covered dependant on your plan.

Also, Lancet Pathologists, not lance.

Hope it helps.

+1 on the blood tests and them needing to be recommended by a Dr.

When I went to Lancet labs directly, they straight up told me no medical aid will cover and I have to pay there and then in cash before the tests will get done. Simple as that.

So rather look for a nice Dr who will help you out and get the tests you want done, or well, recommend them.
I am sure that if you are constantly getting the same tests done, your medical aid might start to question why you have the same tests done soo often.

I personally see it as an extra cost which comes with the lifestyle if you decide to cycle. If it is too expensive for you, it probably isn't for you. :-/ Bodybuilding can work out extremely expensive!

For some Abs are made with lighting & angles... For others they are made in the kitchen.

Absolutely, a doctor you are comfortable with and that understands your needs will help a lot. If you are unhappy with your GP, ask for photocopies of your medical history and find someone who suits you.

Psy, regarding the aid and blood tests. They won't get curious about you doing the tests over and over again. Usually at the labs they ask medical aid or cash. Always say medical aid, that way you at least try. A couple of days later your aid will email you saying they refused the payment and you have to pay the practitioner (laboratories in this case). So if anything it's just paperwork for them rejecting you.

My point is, don't be intimidated thinking you are going to get in trouble or being found out, my doctor or pathologist. There is no risk in drawing some bloods to ensure your health.

Peace fellas.

You must be on an extremely comprehensive plan then. I'm guessing prescription medication has very little limit also.

Juicey Juice, take a look here exactly how much plans can vary:
