Bloods for Health was created by PumpSeeker
Hi guys,

Going to a lab on Monday for bloods just to check everything is running smoothly and just wanted to get some feedback with regards to what to check for kidney and liver health as the Lancet form has like 15 boxes in each organ' s column.

Already getting some endocrine, glucose metabolism and cholesterol tested. Btw, age: 20. Rather start testing early than late

Can't remember the names off the top of my head from each lab, post a pic of the kidney section and I'll tell you.

J169.. For liver there is no need to do the LFT test unless you suspect liver damage / yellowing of skin / slurred speech, etc. F232 / F234 is more than enough..

Always check your full blood count. Remember aas increase blood volume, and if your red blood cell count, heamocrit and hemoglobin is high it means your blood is thick and sludgey and you will need to go and donate a pint of blood every 3 months.

Well I'm not using and AAS so shouldn't be an issue. I'm testing the FBC anyway as I used to be anaemic. Getting the bloods done tomorrow morning, just hope I don't faint  Also doesn't help that it's fasted

It can still creep up even after a cycle. Just lay down when they do bloods and keep breathing through out the witjdrawl.

Have yet to start my first cycle. Just did bloods to be in the know of how my body is operating. Terrible experience, had to fight to stay conscious.

Results are in:

Total Test:17.11 nmol/l
SHBG: 38.7 nmol/l
Free Androgen Index: 44
Free Test: 325

FSH: 5.76 mIU/ml
LH: 8.98 mIU/ml
Oestradiol: 62.5 pmol/l
Progesterone: 1.3 nmol/l

None fall outside normal ranges except for LH which is above normal. Have a few flagged results in other areas though.

Glucose (fasting): 5.9 nmol/l
Urea: 11.8 nmol/l
Creatinine: 60 umol/l
Liver AST: 48 U/l.... but the ALT was 45 (normal).

I'd appreciate any input regarding the results.

PS: Cholesterol, Blood Count and electrolytes were all good.

Hi

Your Total test is low for your age, you should be in the upper limits, relying on blood results alone, depends on how you are feeling.

Total test of 17.1nmol/l (Ampath range 6.1 - 27.1) means you are at 493ng/dl. The accepted lab range at ng/dl is 200-1100. The latest research states that the best clinical benefits are at 800ng/dl, which would be roughly 27.8nmol/l. Your results look fine, but for your age, are probably low.

Ampath range for free test is 170-660pmol/l. 325 is also a bit low for your age but not hectically.

Your Oestradiol is a little low, Ampath range is 95-223p/mol. At 62.5 you might be feeling some effects. Low oestradiol can have similar effects to low testosterone.

I can't really comment on the other results.

I'm not suggesting you start TRT! It would be worth a discussion with a Dr who knows his stuff, there's another post on this thread, maybe contact that member, his Doc seems switched on. Ideally you would bring your free test up to the higher range, giving you more bio available test, and your oestradiol to "normal" ranges as well. Diet and lifestyle changes could do this and would be the way to go for now. Well done for checking this now, guys should be checking their bloods and test levels every 10 years at least so you have a benchmark for when you are older. Cheers

My comments are not advice, medical or otherwise. I am not a medical practitioner. Always consult your Doctor before making decisions.

Thanks mfezdro. Well my lab's reference for the Oestradiol is 0-160... that would have me near the middle ranges. But when you say it depends on how you feel.... I feel good all the time? I'm also in a slight calorie deficit at the moment so that maybe could have lowered it a bit perhaps? A positive aspect is the LH being high, which if I'm not mistaken usually leads to a wave of testosterone production.

I definitely agree that TRT is probably not the solution at this stage but maybe I'll speak to an endocrinologist in the near future.

So your SHBG is high which can explain your low free test level meaning your Testosterone is bound up.

You can run a few cycles of Animal Stak or run som DAA and Testo growth from Nutritech.

Paying attention to your diet training style and body fat percentage and the amount of sleep you get can work wonders also

My labs reference for free test is 160-526 so I'm around average... but they should be higher considering my age.

My diet doesn't consist of too much fat which could be a contributing influence. My body fat is 8% so I doubt that's an issue. I'm currently consuming like 50g of fats so that can be increased slowly to promote better hormone function.

Hi Rooibul,

Would running a natural test booster for 8-12 weeks potentially leaving my testosterone slightly higher even off the test booster? Almost like awakening better natural levels per say.

Thanks RB, also keen to try Boomstick by Redcon1. Primary ingredient is DAA I think.
