Cholesterol - can HDL be too high

Quick questions for the senior guys.

Did some bloods this morning

Test Result Range
S-UREA 9.2 mmol/L 2.1 - 7.1 H

S-CREATININE 114 umol/L 80 - 115

eGFR (CKD-EPI-mL/min/1.73m2) 74

S-CHOLESTEROL 7.1 mmol/L < 5.0 H

S-LDL CHOLESTEROL 5.6 mmol/L < 3.0 H

S-HDL CHOLESTEROL 0.8 mmol/L > 1.0 L

S-NON HDL CHOLESTEROL 6.3 mmol/L < 3.8 H

S-CHOL./HDL RATIO 8.9 < 4.1 H

S-TRIGLYCERIDE 1.6 mmol/L < 1.7


Doctor said I must come pick up a script, but im not really keen on cholesterol meds. I know Statins have a bad rep.

Go visit an endo and workout why it's high and treat the cause of the problem, not the symptoms.

Cool I will look into that, I was thinking of doing that as well. still waiting for my other bloods

Cholesterol pitches up at the aftermath of the party, it is not the cause of the problem.

My personal non medical professional opinion is that statins are poison and no one should take them for any reason. Treat the underlying condition, or leave it well enough alone.
