SERM use on Cycle was created by bamiam
Hi Guys.

Just a general question today. I do apologise if this has been touched on anywhere else, but I have scanned historic threads and articles and could not find anything conclusive.

At my local gym there is an experienced 50+ yo bodybuilder with multiple cycles under the belt. He is probably around 110 KG and has kept his BF close to 10% on my guess-timation. He swears by the use of Clomid during all his cycles for, as he noted, improved cholesterol markers and reduced testicular atrophy on cycle. He goes back onto TRT doses following cycle so doesn't use pct or clomid when off.

On paper his reasoning makes sense to me, i.e. when the hypothalamus does not find estrogen or significant levels of estrogen in the body the hypothalamus signals the production of LH and FSH by the pituitary. So blocking estrogen receptors creates an 'environment' where the hypothalamus thinks testosterone is required seeing as there is no estrogen having been converted from testosterone or smaller volumes of estrogen registered in the system.

I need to state that if this is a feasible approach I still believe AIs should be used to reduce conversion to estrogen and ensure that once the clomid is discontinued that estrogen in the system has been kept largely under control.

My questions are therefore:
1. Do the experienced guys on here agree with the potential noted benefits of clomid use on cycle?
2. Would there be downside to trying this on cycle along with the normal AI doses?
3. If yes, what would be a good dosing regimen? ED, EOD, twice a week?

Think this is quite interesting and would appreciate your thoughts.

Testicular atrophy is controlled by HCG while on a cycle not a SERM. Any SERM use during a cycle is 90s information and replaced by the use of an AI in today's protocols.

You statement about on paper makes sense to you only comes into play when you have low enough androgen levels for the pituitary to behave in such a manner (once you have ridden out the half life of the drug and started the use of a SERM or AI during your post cycle therapy). Only HCG can send those signals you looking at while on cycle with LH and small FSH pulses that is really of no effect until again, your levels are low enough for natural testosterone levels to rise. However the HCG has documented research showing that it can be effective during the use of TRT. There is no data supporting that use case for large cycles.

Speeding up such recovery can be achieved by using HCG during cycle to prevent such atrophy.

Clomid comes with so many side effects that it would be the last thing one should be running for long periods of time during the cycle.
