Greetings members.

I've recently been to the doc and the oke wanted to give me transdermal testosterone cream. Mind you, this is just a regular GP with an interest in hormones, think he does the bioidentical approach with estrogen and all that for women.

What are the opinions on testosterone cream? I'm bit hesitant - the idea I'm getting is that the dosages work differently than injections, absorbtion rate varies, you can't shower for 2-4 hours after putting it on, have to take care not to transfer the cream to other people via touch - I don't know, I'd rather opt for smaller bi-weekly injections.

When mentioning my reluctance he said that trt with injections isn't viable, not for a younger guy such as myself (28yo) because giving massive injections every 2nd week (first sign) would completely shutdown my system whereas cream won't do that - cream would only be 'supplementing' my endogenous test.

Anyways, this made me want to find another doctor, but here's the catch - my testosterone is in the range. Lab test was 15.0nmol/L - not too bad, but SHBG was a whopping 65 - it's been >55 ever since I've done my first test a few years ago, that seems to be normal for me.
This leaves free test at about 191pmol/L on a range of 170 - 660pmol/L

The problem? Most docs I've seen wants to give me an anti-depressant as my mood is low, energy is low, I'm irritable, sluggish in my head, don't get erections, struggling with progress in the gym, etc.

This was the first doc who actually listened a bit, more actually willing to consider something else than anti depressants.

Not sure if I can ask on this forum as I don't want to implicate a doctor with a site giving information pertaining to anabolics, but I thought I'd give it a shot.
I don't want to ask around in my gym for UG gear, I want a doc who knows what he's doing to evaluate my symptoms and see if it can be addressed, if needed.

Any thoughts?

A point - Yes, fertility is a big thing for me, but at the same time I'm 80% of the time feeling like horsesht. I'm at that point where I'd rather try trt with hcg (if low free testosterone holds a candle to my symptoms) than continue with this life where I don't have the energy for a spouse, anyway.
