Topical Finasteride application

I believe there was a thread somewhere earlier but i cannot find it. I just bought a few bottles of Nizorol together with all my gear just before leaving SA. I think Inja mentioned that you can crush propecia tabs and mix with the nizorol shampoo. How many tabs in one bottle of shampoo and is this effective?

If that did work I doubt it would be as effective... I believe some MD was stating you coculd use nizorol shampoo but I thought he was joking too?

propecia would need to work through the blood stream for it to be effective.

its the same with using steroid gels, there has been research proven that it does not work.... and that patients taking the placebo had the same effects in the people taking the gel... will find the article in some of my books again tonight... and paste it tomorrow... so what I was actually trying to say is, I doubt massagin procepia on your head would make any difference what so ever...

Finasteride is absorbed through the skin. That why there is a warning on the insert about women touching the stuff.
Niz shampoo and others like it, covers the head in a tar-like substance and i suspect thats how the Finasteride is then absorbed.
Dr John Crisler gives the recipe he uses himself in one of his lectures. It isnt Finasteride though.
He describes using Finasteride for hear-loss as "filling a tea cup with a storm". You apparently only need something like .02mg Finasteride fo effective hairloss prevention.

Niz shampoo contains ketoconazole, which is an anti-androgen. When you wash your hair with it it prevents DHT from binding to the androgen receptor in your scalp preventing hair loss.

Yes, finasteride can be used topically, best to crush up the tablets and mix with minoxidil spray.

and is it anywhere near as effective? where is proof that applied to the head is as effective as taking a tablet?

Right i bought Kaz which is the generic of Niz shampoo its a 80 ml bottle. Unfortunately im not in SA at the moment and wont be there for 3 months atleast so i dont have access to the spray. I will be using one propecia daily oraly on cycle as well. How many propecia tabs should i crush into the 80 mls of shampoo? Also it says use it twice a week on the package? But im sure you have to use it more when hitting 700 mgs of test? Any thoughts?

well we have a guy at work who has a cone head and for aids day we shaved his head.... thats why some guys like hair, i dont care how mine is... then again my chick has to love me regardless (hopes) lol...

I'm not sure I was the one who said put finasteride into the niz... You'll have to grind up those tabs pretty fine to mix them in nicely. If you want to topically apply finasteride try dissolving it in another solvent and applying that at a different time interval to the niz.
