I have gotten hold of Pregnyl from a pharmacy here in Dubai apparently it is not controlled here, but out of stock). I have tested it using a standard pregnancy test kit, however it didn't show a postive result. How is this possible, is there a certain concentration threshold within these pregnancy test kits are reliable? I mean who will go through the trouble to fake it? I mean it costs less than (when converted) **** for the 3x3 1500iu package. Can anybody share some light on this issue please as I am hesitant to use the product until it has shown to be hCG.
Thank you.

Odd.. Although i have never tried using that test kit as i never had a reason to suspect HCG. But you might be using small dosages or something like that which could be a reason for your test coming negative

Why is it not feasible to test the reconstituted solution itself using the test? I think, if anything, the concentration may be too high and might fall outside the detection limits, which I don't understand as the control strip becomes visible.

Different kits have different detection limits, I don't think they go over 200IU/mL. You will need to dilute your HCG accordingly.
The control strip will still show up because it's not detecting the HCG, its detecting the antibody that is already present on the strip (to make sure the strip works).
Sorry if I offend you
Its just my point of view
