Would you use something like Bee Sting or Heat or Wasp as a pre-workout kick?
I've been using all the natural stuff like NO-Blast and No-Explode and stuff like that, but is wondering if it would be better to say use 1 cap of Bee Sting before a workout for that extra push.
Its cheaper and would prob kick you better than the normal stuff wihtout the added creatine and bullshit they put it... LOL

Training is already highly catabolic, no need adding to the problem.
Stimulants will also blunt the endogenous GH release brought on by intense training.
For an extra kick try 10g of free form BCAA's.

1-2 x HEAT and Creapump!

Mr SA,
Eating right = i think so
Cardio = Yes
The idea actually is to just get the stimulant in to give me energy before my Heavy training session. I do my workout in the afternoons and is a little bit tired so that is why im looking for something to give the kick in the ass to go train hard.
I'm still experimenting with different Pre-workout shakes though.

Stimulants = cortisol = muscle loss.

BigDave:
That's not entirely true although stimulants do increase cortisol it does not do so to a catabolic level especially with regards to stimulants like heat even at 2 caps (provided your cortisol levels are average to begin with). Cortisol at these levels is good its primary function is to increase blood sugar and stores of sugar in the liver as glycogen and thus aid in fat, protein and carbohydrate metabolism - So in other words your statement about it being catabolic is true AT TIMES but if you are timing it correctly and getting in your bcaa's, protein, carbs etc before during and after gym then stimulants can and are used very effectively.
Jacquespa:
See what works for you- i have tried and this works pretty well for me: a big protein shake 1 hour before gym, 1 heat 25 mins before gym, and start sipping on my pre/intra shake which consists of carbs> aminos> creatine> glutamine and a few other goodies;)
Peace

Cortisol is ALWAYS catabolic, yes the extent of which does change but it's still breaking down tisssue to create glucose. I'd rather skip the stimulants and rely on the stress of super-setting squats to liberate my glycogen, and have extra BCAA/protein to support that catabolism then take them to support stimulant induced catabolism as well.
You don't have to justify your use of pre-workout stimulants to me. I personally have high/normal cortisol and choose to stay away, you might not. I know Dave Palumbo is not a fan and Chris Aceto is, it's a personal thing.
Either way the increased adrenalin and cortisol will blunt any rise in endogenous GH, that's a fact.

Again you are only partly right, but iam not going to argue with you- it comes down to the science behind it cortisol is required to regulate and trigger the growth hormone receptor>> and iam not going to get more technical but its alot more in depth>> however in EXCESS it does have a retarding effect on the gh secretion but what we are talking about is not EXCESS unless you have problems. And to say it is ALWAYS catabolic is an uneducated statement- it is a hormone and its catabolic/ anabolic activity is dependent on timing and circumstances of changing levels.
Peace
