Police have seized 21 200 bottles of Testoviron and Sustanon drugs worth over R3-million from the Lebombo border post with Mozambique, police said on Monday.

The drugs were banned substances used by athletes to boost their stamina and endurance.

Captain Leonard Hlathi said a Mozambican customs official was stopped and searched by police who discovered the drugs.

"The police landed their hands on the medication, estimated to be worth R3 250 596.

"We suspect that he was acting on behalf of somebody else.

"We believe the substances were smuggled from Pakistan," Hlathi said.

He said police released the man as there was no law that could be used to charge him.

"The port health officials said that there was no act we could use to charge the suspect.

"They said the suspect should be released."

Hlathi said the medicine would be destroyed

no i dont after they destroy that amount of muti..thats just not cricket!! there are many bodybuilders with ailments that need that muti for a better healthier life style,how can they be so inconsiderate as to destroy it!

We get lots our good stuff via Moz>Testoviron, Sustanon, AK47s etc etc and it's where all our cars end up. Unless there are a bunch of really huge Mozambican bodybuilders.

It just p!sses me off that all these officials like the police and the government want to treat people who use gear as convicts! They try to convince us that gear is super dangerous like crack cocaine or tik or something! They want to seize and destroy it! And then there are all these sport fan hypocrites who want to see world records broken but toss out athletes who are caught using gear!! Was it Ben Johnson who was stripped of his metals and labelled a "disgrace"? Now its the whole baseball saga. What a load of nonsense!
