Yohimbine and Insulin was created by Smalguy
Hi Guys
Been reading up that yohimbine hcl's effect gets blunted when insulin is spiked in the body and should be best used in a low carb diet etc . This is all very well but my diet currently has the usage of vitargo intra workout with my bcaas and my cardio right after weights. would the usage of ala lipoic acid or chromium polynicotinate enable me to use the yohimbine after weights/before cardio then without the worry of the it being blunted because even with the ingestion of carbs my body is in a state of depletion because of the usage of glycogen for energy..

Use it with fasted cardio or fasted training. Use search function on this forum or Google. This has been answered so many times. Those supplements assist with insulin regulation or blood sugar control, they aren't magic that stops your pancreas secreting insulin.

There are many views on this but I would not deliberately spike insulin whilst on a fat loss mission. Just some food for thought.

How long does a insulin spike last for?

How much protein does it take to get a insulin spike? If in the morning take your yoh do your fasted cardio and just have a protein meal and after 2 hours you introduce carbs then the yoh will be longer active and you won't be loosing any muscle mass? Just a question

Rule 16. Please, enables the kind people that answer questions more likely to fully understand you and answer your question properly.
"Spike insulin" is a term that needs to be used selectively. In your case, a protein meal will cause a insulin release, but not notably big. I think the actual protein amount needed to cause a noteworthy rise will be dependent on how urgently you need to use energy and the amino makeup of the food. High leucine will cause a rise, so avoid egg yolks if this is a concern.

I honestly don't think we are equipped to calculate that on hand. Depends on what you eat, cause that determines how fast it rises and how long it stays elevated. There's probably more factors, but I'm no doctor so I can't elaborate further.Hertzzz wrote: How long does a insulin spike last for?

No problem, so just in case you didn't get it: eat a fatty protein between the cardio and lifting, one with low leucine content. Like bacon or chicken in oil etc. But ja, if you want to get the most out of your yohimbine, wait longer till the meal IMHO.
