Var and fat burner was created by A non a mouse
Hi there

I have been on my first cycle of VAR for just over a week and I can already see some more definition on my arms. (5mg AM, 5mg PM)
However, I am wondering if I should run a fat burner as well. I wont take Clen because I saw how it messed with my friend. Was thinking of FOF or maybe just an over the counter like Lipo6 or SSN ignite or something.
But - should I rather stop the Var and take the fat burner first, take it during - or run it at the end of the var cycle?

I train weight train 5-6 times a week and cardio about 3 days a week, been training about 2 years. I have a very strict diet. My body fat is about 19%
The biggest reason for my question is that I still have some stubborn fat on my legs that I just cant seem to shift.

Any advice?

personally i would introduce one thing at a time.

run the Var for at least 6 - 8 weeks before making changes.

if the first week in has already impressed you I would just enjoy the run for now.

Are you a guy or a girl. If you a guy and taking 10mg that's insane.. if you a woman, different story.

Makes sense. I wouldn't turn to Var to lower fat though. Sure it's making you vasky and hard, but that you won't be able to retain as much as real fat loss. What does your cardio look like?

Interestingly enough, new research shows best results for HIIT cardio is follow your session with a few hours void of carbs, and then more HIIT later that day. Sounds fun.

If you want to use the var to cut then you need to vastly reduce calories and let the var help you sustain your muscles. As Furk suggested HIT works well

Currently I either incline walk or interval run for about 20 min 3 x a week. I know I could do better, I just hate cardio.
In between my sets on weight lifting days I do things to keep my heart rate up (like burpees, jumping jacks etc)

I follow a low carb diet anyway - only get carbs from veggies.

So should I stop the VAR until I am at my goal body fat % then start it again?

I honestly don't know how to reduce my calories any more. I eat about 1200 calories per day, no sugar, no crap...
So what would you recommend my daily calories be if I must vastly reduce it?

No reason to stop the var, but its not going to make you loose the fat to be honest. You need to find your optimal fatburning zone. Obviously something in your diet is not on, otherwise you wouldn't be here. Post your exact diet and lets see.

What's your age?

Sounds solid. I also hate cardio, but mostly because I find it boring. A couple years back during my most intense cut I also did the mid-lifts cardio thing. Just don't let that limit the intensity of your weight lifting. In a cut, the reason you lift is to retain muscle, so it still needs to challenge you. You're teaching your body you need the muscle to survive your weekly life routine.

To get back to my story, I got cut up peeled to the bone, diced to the socks out of the box. I did complex giant-sets (almost like Tabata), sent my metabolic furnace soaring, but I did loose muscle. But at my peak physique I did it different, morning fasted cardio, weights later the day, and interval sprints in the swimming pool. Take home message, on a cut: Lift with purpose, lift heavy. Do cardio so it doesn't impact weight training, cardio for maximum calorie burn out of the gym.

Regarding your diet, can you maybe fill me in on your stats? Age, height, weight. Have you considered that you have dieted for such a long time that Leptin is null? As body-fat decreases, the benefit from carb feeds increase. And a gatorade after lifting isn't a carb-up. Leptin needs like more than 12hrs of carb foods to raise. Leptin ≠ Insulin.

One last thing, consider the type of fat you are trying to loose. Colloquially known as "stubborn fat", it's fat that blood doesn't reach easily. This is where Yohimbine shines. IMHO the perfect use of this fat burner.

Hope it helps Anon.

Hi Oupa

I am 34 years old.

My diet:
After my morning workout i have breakfast
Its normally some full cream yogurt or milk with a nut mix and sometimes a banana.
Occasionally I will have a protein shake after training, but I dont like the shakes because of all the extra stuff they put in like sugar.

Mid Morning:
2 boiled eggs and sometimes a piece of ham and cottage cheese.

Lunch:
Chicken breast and salad. (basically just different lettuce and cucumber, and sometimes strawberries or pineapple, and cottage cheese.

Dinner:
Chicken breast and broccoli. Sometimes butternut as well if I feel hungry.

I drink about 5 cups of black sugarless coffee a day.

My body does not respond well to oats and bread etc. However, bread is a weak point for me and I occasionally have bread.

Im not on a low carb diet as I do eat veggeis/fruit with carbs, I just avoid grains/gluten.

I have been on diet for ever! The diet I posted above is pretty much how I have eaten for the last two years if not longer. And before that I have always gone through phases of being very restrictive. I have learnt much more about food since then and that you need to eat!

I am 34, 1.67m and about 57kg. I am naturally quite muscular, but just have more fat around my lower body than I want.

I did have my insulin and some other hormones tested a while ago, and they were all fine, although they did not test my leptin.
One thing though is that my Sex binding globulin was high, but testosterone was fine.
My Dr couldnt explain why the SHBG was high. Dont suppose you have any idea and if it can have an affect on me not being able to shed some fat?

I will look at ways to incorporate some tabata style workouts - thank you :)

Can I take Yohimbine at the same time as the var, or only when I am done with the cycle?

Anon, I'll talk about the points I'm best clued up on. Comments in colour below.

Its normally some full cream yogurt or milk with a nut mix and sometimes a banana. I'm not a fan of carbs before training, plus current research shows it's beneficial to have a protein-fat brefast void of carbs. If do do wan't a carb breakfast, go for real low-gi, whole food,
Occasionally I will have a protein shake after training, but I dont like the shakes because of all the extra stuff they put in like sugar. Buy raw, unflavoured pure whey. It's cheaper, almost no taste (a bit milky) and very versatile.

Mid Morning:
2 boiled eggs and sometimes a piece of ham and cottage cheese. Righteous

Lunch:
Chicken breast and salad. (basically just different lettuce and cucumber, and sometimes strawberries or pineapple, and cottage cheese. As long as you don't get a sugar crash from the fruit, those are great fruit to have. Berries of almost any variety are great for health and pineapple is great for digestive enzymes.

Dinner:
Chicken breast and broccoli. Sometimes butternut as well if I feel hungry. Righteous. Don't be afraid of changing the broccoli for other cruciferous veg. If you can get your hands on watercress that stuff has godly micro-nutrients.

I drink about 5 cups of black sugarless coffee a day. Try to get in a bit of pure water in also. Nothing wrong with good quality black coffee.

My body does not respond well to oats and bread etc. However, bread is a weak point for me and I occasionally have bread.

Unless you have Coeliac disease or a gluten intolerance, there is really no good reason to omit it. What I mean is you don't have to buy special "gluten free" products. If grains upsets you fair enough, there are other good carb sources.

A non a mouse wrote: I have been on diet for ever! That might even be the start to your weight problem right there. Take some time off harsh dieting. I don't mean go wild. I mean consciously control your intake to allow yourself to eat a bit more. Given you don't weight much and aren't tall, but you sound rather acive. I suspect a bit of metabolic adaptation - your body has gotten used to little food and thus able to maintain a higher weight than desired with less food. Put in carbohydrates on purpose, read what you said above, go for things like sweet potatoes.

That fat disposition is totally natural for a lady. If you carry weight on your butt consider it an asset (no pun intended). Trust me, this isn't a big as a issue as you think. I can elaborate further if you want.

I did have my insulin and some other hormones tested a while ago, and they were all fine, although they did not test my leptin. I think leptin tests are only used in obese indivuduals to test for leptin resistance. I doubt you'll have insightful findings with regards to this. See my comment above about changing diet.
One thing though is that my Sex binding globulin was high, but testosterone was fine.
My Dr couldnt explain why the SHBG was high. Dont suppose you have any idea and if it can have an affect on me not being able to shed some fat? Never looked into it. If there is something fishy there one of the other members will chip in no doubt.

I will look at ways to incorporate some tabata style workouts - thank you :)

Can I take Yohimbine at the same time as the var, or only when I am done with the cycle? Sure you can. Take a look HERE for more info.

Thank you for the indepth response Furk.
I have been really ill for the last week so i stopped taking the var. Am going to start it again tomorrow and also try eating a bit more like you suggested and see how it goes. Ps - i already do fasted cardio. I only have breakfast after gym)
I have also been thinking that I should finish my cycle of var before i take some fat burners - i am stressing myself out thinking about whether I should and even which fat burner to take! (Ie FOF or Fff coz i dont think i can get pure yohimbine) (im a bit OCD sometimes lol)

Ill post again in a week or two after I have seen the progress on the var alone with the amended diet.

(Ie FOF or Fff coz i dont think i can get pure yohimbine) Depends how you handle the sides IMO, I take Venteze or Clen because I turn into a volcano on Ephedrine. (im a bit OCD sometimes lol) Ok calm down woosaa woosaa. I don't see why not, but I think it depends how you want to peak. Do you have a due date? Think what I said about the difference between being harder, and loosing fat and looking harder from that. Now imagine you loose the fat, and you get that hard look on top of that? See, it really depends on your goals.

Ill post again in a week or two after I have seen the progress on the var alone with the amended diet. Gonna get strong.

I dont have a due date. I know I should have a goal and set date though.
You have piqued my interest in the Venteze, definitely going to do some reading on that!
I think my biggest goal is to loose fat so that my muscles look harder. As I mentioned, I am already quite muscular, so perhaps I should rather be focusing on cutting fat, more than building more muscle.
I do like how my muscles have become harder on the var.

On the venteze I would assume that if a man take 4mg x 3 a woman should then take about 2mg x 3?
What kind of results do you get when you take it?
