TRT after 8 months was created by Mfezdro
Hey all.

I've been on TRT since March this year and thought I'd share a few things for guys thinking about it, or who have just gone on TRT.

I'm 43 years old, 6'4", currently 99kgs. I eventually found a doctor prepared to listen to my woeful story, went for bloods and came back low, so I'm officially on TRT, although I would have "self-medicated" in any event.

In short my total test was 10 (range 6.1-27.1), Free test 180 (range 170-660), effectively the level of a 70 odd year old man. Oestradiol was 81 (range 95-223), also a problem.

I started on 100mg Test Cyp/week initially once a week then split into 2 shots of 50mg each. I started with IM shots. Two IM shots per week for always, got old pretty quickly so after some research I changed to subQ shots. This made a big difference. From what I've read this helps with aromatization. I can only give my observation but I agree, I've always been sensitive to aromatization and I haven't had a single issue so far, for what it's worth on such a low dose.

I then went again after 4 months, results as follows, total test was 20.3 (range 6.1-27.1), Free test 473 (range 170-660) My doctor thought this was much better, I preferred to see it as room for improvement. Oestradiol was 122 (range 95-223). My doctor was quite happy with the results as was I and after piling tons of research documentation on his desk, I convinced him to put me up to 150mg/week, effectively 75mg twice a week. I haven't been for follow up bloods yet but I've been on this for close to 5 months and I'm convinced this is my sweet spot. I feel great and everything is working A OK.

After about 3 months I noticed the dreaded ball shrink, I didn't think it would be an issue but it is. After a lot of reading I put myself on Hcg about 5 weeks ago. So straight up, 500iu Hcg twice a week plus 150 mg Test Cyp/week is too high for TRT for me. Fistly it's 4 jabs a week which is a mission, secondly I immediately noticed general grumpiness. If I wasn't irritated with something I had a hard on. I backed off on my test to 100mg/week again and dropped the Hcg to 250iu twice/week. This seems great for now. I'll probably look at some structured schedule where I go on Hcg for 4 weeks and off for 8, lowering the Test dose when I'm on Hcg. I would also like to try one jab of 150mg Test/week and one jab 500iu Hcg/week, probably on a Sunday/Friday split, to see how that works for the Hcg "cycle" next time round.

A few things that I noticed in my opinion and experience only. Do your research and take papwerwork to your doc, if he won't listen find another, be persistent. SubQ shots made a big difference, 21g needle to draw, 26/27g needle to shoot; splitting the Test C shots into 2/week made a difference. Your doc will tell you it's unnecessary, I definitely felt a difference towards the end of the week; There's no need for Hcg unless you are concerned about nut shrink or fertility, but you'll probably want to use it, I feel more content when using it but it will raise your Estrogen. Reduce your overall test when you go on Hcg, 500iu twice/week was too much for me; I think cycling Hcg will work for me; don't guess your bloods if you self medicate, get bloods and run your test dose within that.

Overall it's been the best thing that's happened to me, if you're feeling low, no motivation, stubborn belly fat, low libido, etc etc, get bloods done and see a good doctor.

Hope that helps anyone who may be wondering about TRT.

Thanks for sharing, great information, think I'm heading in the same direction... It's a lifetime commitment but well worth it if uou get it right. Will you add GH to your regime?

It's going to make the world's difference. About the HGH, never heard of it used in TRT. Wouldn't think it's necessary at all. The most elaborate TRT I've read about is Test, HCG and a AI.

For TRT, HGH might not be necessary... But I'm thinking that it can't hurt if you are using GH dosages for Anti Ageing, the benefits for Skin, bones, etc would be cool?

@TheV. I've got no experience with GH to be honest so probably not. Two things that are cons for me is firstly the extra jabs. It's really a mission even subq. The other thing is I'm trying to optimize my system and I think GH might be pushing it a step too far, that's just me though. If you go on TRT and you legitimately need it, it's a game changer. Good luck.

@OP, so you use normal syringes and not insulin syringes I take it?
Where do you do your SubQ shots? In you stomach?

Now I read somewhere that in terms of fertility, when looking at having kids running a course of HCG and Clomid could get you swimmers going stronger and help you have kids. This seems to have worked for quite a few people on TRT or people cruising and blasting (for over 3 years).
Have you looked into fertility and TRT at all? Fertility has always been a big concern of mine, fortunately I have no issues with my natural test but it is always good to know :)

@Furk, perhaps you could even chime in here a bit if you are still monitoring this thread?

Also to reduce the jabs, have you considered / tried to use a single syringe and shoot booth the test and HCG together? Draw it both into the same needle and then shoot, chances are the HCG might turn into lots of little water blobs inside the test oil and look weird but I see no reason why it will not work.

You need to make sure there is no vacuum inside the vials though, otherwise the vacuum in the vials might suck out some of the HCG / test inside of the syringe.

For some Abs are made with lighting & angles... For others they are made in the kitchen.

I am the same age as you and also on TRT but I only inject once a week with cyp in the glute did try subq but oil too thick and take too long to inject. The small balls I now accepted and stopped using HCG but do agree with you it is a mental thing to get use to. I use two drops of letrozole a week don't know if it helps at such low dose but now almost a year and no problems. Every three months I increase test to 500mg for four weeks just to give my muscle mass a boost and cannot wait for another year to pass to see the difference.

Thanks Triton

Good to know. I'm trying to stay away from letro ect. as much as possible, the only time I've noticed a potential E issue was adding Hcg into it. I also alternate between my prescribed test at 100mg/ml which is 0.5ml each jab and PGW test cyp at 250mg/ml which gives me only 0.3ml to jab, it is much better the less you jab.
Interesting idea on upping the dose for "cycles" every three months, think I might try that. Cheers.

@Psyclown
Yes I use normal syringes, 26 or 27g needle to jab, in the stomach. I use an insulin needle for the Hcg. It works perfectly for me, much better than IM, for my situation.

I did a lot of reading on fertility for a mate as he still wants to have kids. It's no issue for me as I've been snipped so won't be saddling that horse any time soon. The general research I've read shows that guys concerned about fertility use Hcg alongside the test. Some guys have even been prescribed Hcg mono therapy, typically at 500iu 3 times/week, so no test and it seems to work. I would also be concerned about desensitizing the LH receptors at some point though.

I've always been told on here not to mix water and oil in a shot but not sure if that applies to subq as well, so never considered it. I think if you're going to stay on test and Hcg for TRT the ideal situation would be test dosed at 250mg/ml, a 0,4ml jab (100mg) test every Sunday and 250iu Hcg every Friday. This is then only 2 shots subq/week and would keep away the little swing I used to experience at the end of every week. I'm going to try that when I next use Hcg, I think it would be a good solution. Problem is prescribed test is dosed at 100mg/ml which then makes it one jab of 1ml subq which in my experience is too much. Again, all my opinion, each guy responds differently so a bit of trial and error is needed. Cheers.

Hey, Great thread.
I have also started about a year ago. using 150mg test E per week sub q. I currently cycle my hcg, 4 weeks on & 8 off. I use an insulin syringe and draw 250 iu hcg first and then the test. That way it never really mixes as the oil just lies on top. Still undecided about the use of hcg though as far as benefits go.
SubQ twice a week with test e @ 250mg/ml is almost inconsequential in my daily life.
I use the testoviron ampules and pre-load my pins by putting it into a test cyp multi-dose vile first. This is the only schlep I have.
I am trying to dial in my estrogen levels at the moment - this is the tricky part.

Thanks Fox, I never realized it could be mixed like that. I definitely feel "better" on Hcg, just more content but its tough to quantify. I'm debating whether the added risk of Estrogen issues is worth it. I'll try it once more cycled as I noted above and see. I agree the twice weekly subQ jabs are not an issue for me either. Wouldn't it be easier to use Test C in the multi dose vial than go through the mission of pre-filling? Cheers

Great post and thanks for sharing. Out of interest what have you been doing to keep the estrogen levels in check and the gyno at bay. I started getting sensitive nipples shortly into my TRT. Doc has added Masteron to my weekly shot and a tablet a day of proviron and seems to be great. How long did it take for the balls to drop when you introduced the Hcg?

@DK. Thanks, I thought it may be interesting to someone out there.

I haven't picked up any estrogen or gyno issues at up to 180mg/week. I've settled on 150mg/week and its fine. Masteron and Proviron, bless your doctor! I love Masteron, what mg/week has he added? I'd be really interested in looking at that.

Hcg takes effect quickly for me, I notice differences in around 10 days. I've decided to run my Hcg for one month about every 4. So three times a year or so. I'm still going to play around with dosages until I get that sweet spot, I'm probably going to reduce my Test to 100mg/week while running Hcg as I definitely felt the extra bump last time round.

Thanks for that. On 100mg of Masteron per week with the test. Also have not had any issues since introduced along with the Proviron.

Just a quick one, did you do a full blood count whilst running your TRT to see your RBC, hemoglobin and heamocrit levels?
