Good day Gents

It seems my basic assumptions about total testosterone and doing cycles might have been wrong , honestly no surprise there considering it can get quite technical I suppose .
My Questions are : What is the average total test levels for a male at 35 ? And is 16nmol/l to low to cycle again ?

Thanks in advance
G

Total T is not the best unit for measure I would work from Free Testosterone
50-210 pg/mL (174-729 pmol/L)

270-1070 ng/dL (9-38 nmol/L)T

Total Testosterone

It is on you. It always has been...

Thanks for the feedback ou bul . But as I understand free testosterone is % of your total testosterone and if your total testosterone is in range then usually your free testosterone will also be in range . Please I'm not trying to keep me clever , it's the basic assumptions I work on so please just correct me if I'm wrong , that's why I started this topic and I think it can be educational for other users on here as well .

My other basic assumption is that considering the range for total testosterone, 16 is smack bam in the middle so I thought that would be a decent baseline ?

Not always Bud.

Your Total T could be on point but high Estrogen and high SHBG could bind almost all your free T putting you in the low remember only free testosterone is doing what testosterone needs to be doing in our bodies.
It is not simply a % there are other factors in play

It is on you. It always has been...

This is why it is so important to first do a testosterone blood test before you cycle for the first time to get a base line figure. Then you don't have to ask if your test levels is too low to cycle again becuase you have your actual base line. If your waiting period since your previous cycle was adequate you can cycle again if all your other stats are ok like fat percentage etc. This time do a proper PCT as this site advice and check your test again.

Thank you rooi bul that makes sense , it's just bizarre how there are different opinions out there and how many people say different things . I always just thought if your testosterone is in range everything else should be fine . I realize I was wrong .

Thank you for your feedback and I always do a proper pct , thank you Triton . My total testosterone was 16 nmol/l before I did my last cycle and I thought that was a good number, but it seems it might not be . Before I started using juice about 4 years ago my total testosterone was 21 and I didn't do much blood work until now recently . My next blood work is coming up now and I just need some good baselines to work with , except the obvious ones.

Total T is not what is immediately available for your body to use, but it is important to test because it indicates how much T your balls are producing. So you can get an indication of how you have recovered.

Your Total T should be around 20nmol/l or just over in your 20s to early 30s to be in the healthy average range.

The problem is with the "in range" statement. You may test your Test levels and they are in range but you feel crap. You may have had higher Test previously and not known it. Unless you have years of baseline numbers to understand your own history a Snap Shot view doesn't tell you much except what is going on at that point. Would be great if you could have a device hooked up that measure all your blood parameters over time so you can see trends. Another problem with the so called base line measurements is that they are based on the average population samples taken over time. If you measure kidney function elements in a bodybuilder , like Creatinine, a doctor may think there is a problem as these levels are always elevated due to the protein breakdown that occurs from muscle protein synthesis. My wife went through this stress with her doctor that was worried, despite me telling him to read up on what to expect from someone that weight trains aggressively that my wife had impaired kidney function as her numbers were "out of range".

Thank you MA for clearing that up . Could you please tell me if my total test has fallen to 16 and I do another cycle will it ever be able to recover to around 20 again ? I really feel good after my cycles and feel my recovery is quite decent and I usually do my bloods around the 3rd month after pct .

It should be cool but there is no way of knowing anything for sure when it comes to recovery from steroids. If you stick to the 'time on + pct = time off' then you should be fine 9 times out of 10. But most people don't wait so long before hopping back on cycle anyway.

When determining what’s considered a normal testosterone level, it’s best to look at what the reference range is for men your age. Researchers have known for years that T levels typically drop by about 1% every year after you hit your mid-30s. So if you’re 35, comparing yourself to a bunch of 80-year-old men isn’t very useful because they likely have really low T levels.

Hi gents . As a matter of interest: My total testosterone was 18nmol/l before I started this cycle , so imo my recovery seems to be good ? I honestly am a big advocate of the pct and hcg protocols we follow on this site and I believe it makes a massive difference to recovery. With so much bro-science out there it's hard coming across really useful information . Hcg on cycle 250iu's x2 /week . PCT : 2 weeks clomid @ 50 mg/ day and nolva for 4 weeks @20mg/day . So thanks moderators for all the hard work , time and effort you put into it .
Cheers G

I.m.o. your recovery is going well. Aim to start your next cycle either when you hit the 20 mark, or in say 2 months.
