If its a planned cheat meal I would advise eating high/er fibre the meal before and afterwards. Ythe higher fibre will keep you fuller into your cheat meal so you don't over binge and the higher fibre should allow the cheat meal to pass through the system faster

icerip that logic doesnt work, slow down the digestion with fiber and it will help pass through the system faster? hmmm ok.the problem with most cheat meals is this, they are usually laden with sugars and fats, so if you are going to cheat rather go for HIGH CARB,LOW FAT LOW protein meals, the reason for this is the fat and protein slow down the digestion, it also depends if you are dieting and having a carb up or a cheat meal... if u are going for a plain out cheat dont go over a 1000 calories in the meal, if you are having a carb up 300-400g of carbs is whats needed as long as the fats and proteins are low. the reason u wanna go for more carbs over proteins and fats is the fact that higher protein and fats dont have much effect on leptin levels, the higher carbs do.also the higher carbs will help with replenishing glycogen stores.

i usually take 1000mg of alpha lipolic acid and 200mcg of chromium before a cheat meal and after a cheat meal as its used as glucose disposal agent and keeps you sensitive to insulin to so you dont over secret insulin.

I figured that the higher fibre will help you krap it out faster. Heard that advice on chanel 124 E entertainment that some of the celebs employ this strategy

cheat meals are there for a reason, if you are dieting hard it is needed once a week to boost leptin levels, so taking those things arent the best idea if you are doing an intended cheat/carb up. if not then i guess u can shovel them in...

Many of the female pro figure athletes also swear by the high fibre meal pre and post a "bad" meal.

it might,i have never really looked into this sort've thing but it could do so... the GDA's are essential for guys like me who have an issue with high carb diets,so some of my clients with higher fat % are on them all the time already.

I hear you about cheat meals once a week to boost leptin levels. But what if someone is not discipline enough to cheat once a week. In your scenario DJ they would be having excessive calories as well as higher insulin levels from the lack of protein fats and fibres. Am I correct in saying that that would hinder fat loss longer than if the digestion was slowed down and less insulin was released

excess calories from carbs and infact excess calories from protein or carbs or fats will hinder fat loss... yes higher fiber would probably reduce insulin levels due to slowed down digestion but it also depends on the carbs, i mean adding psylium husk to glucose powder is still gonna spike insulin levels, how much less due to the high fiber i cannot answer but having a bowl of high fiber bran will still be slower releasing and have a lower GI therefore less insulin is produced as the fact that the carbs are low gi already....
