Hey Bros,

Please can the experts help again...

I'd like to do my blood work before I start my next cycle. I know all is in order. I'd just like to have blood work done, then if something goes pear shaped during my cycle, I have a reference point to work with.

My questions is.. Do I need to get a referral to do the bloods by my GP? Or could I just go directly to a lab and have them drawer the blood? And if I can what is the name of the blood work I should ask for?
I'd like to have my free test, test, cholesterol and thyroid function, etc done.. Guess that's what I'd ask for right? Or Is there a specific medical term I should use?

I have posted a thread about my next cycle.. In case you need to check it out, here it is..

www.anabolicsteroids.co.za/forum/2-anabo...327-new-cycle-advice

Not sure if I should have just attached this to my original thread... But started a new topic. Sorry if I'm wrong here bro's!

Shot for this in advance! :)

Would greatly appreciate any advice around this.

Hi Bud,

First of all I think it is an excellent decision to have your bloodwork done pre-cycle. Many people don't.

You want to get the following;

1) Lipogram with LP(a)
2) Hormone Panel with Total Testosterone, SHBG, Free Testosterone (calculated), Estradiol, and Progesterone (if cycle is to include Deca or Trenbolone)
3) Liver values (if taking orals), especially AST

You will have to work via your Dr. Labs PathCare) will not test you without their document and the dr's reference on their. The results will be sent to the Dr. for interpretation. The Dr. will then discuss the results with you.

Hope this helps.

Bob

I wonder if the Mods/MA/Admin would not mind creating a sticky about blood work, the essential tests, what normal ranges should be etc. That would be info that could assist the majority of us.

Here´s what you need to test:

1) I always do general bloods. Especially the Haemoglobin is important.
2) Do a liver profile if using orals (it´s good to know anyways)
3) Kidney functions
4) Hormone Profile:
FSH, LH, Estradiol, Progesterone, Prolactin, TSH, SHBG, Cortisol, DHEA Sulphate, Testosterone Total, Free Testosterone.

Then Somatomedin C (IGF-1) if you want.

Hey Bob,

Yeah thanks bro. Just make sure I take all the steps to be as safe as possible.

Thanks for this info bud! Such a great help. This whole bloods thing is a whole new dynamic for me.. And something I find really interesting.

I am gonna run Tren Ace 80. That's what inspired me to have this done... And of course I wanna know what's happening inside this beast!

Have a look at my cycle thread if you are keen.

Thanks again bud!

Good morning gents...

Just an update and for interest sake..

So I have seen my Doc and had the blood work done at the lab. I'm waiting for the results.... :woohoo:

Yeah, maybe this will help some other dues (and girls) if they need to have this blood work done.. Cause I was thinking this would at most, set me back around R1500 max. It's actually gonna cost me closer to R3000.00. The lab work alone is R2500 and 1 GP visit @ R370. And perhaps a second if there are any issues that need to be discussed around the blood work.

Even although this can be a pretty pricy experience.. It's something I'd personally like to always do in the future.

Luckily I have a good relationship with my Doc.. And am open and transparent about everything I take. Something I'd recommended to anyone, wanting to pressure steroids the safe and correct way.

Hope this thread helps some of the dudes out there. ;)

I will post my results for any of the experts interested, soon as I have them. Lank existed. :silly:
