Laws regarding aas posession in SA was created by charliechan
Just wondering what the laws regarding possession of small amounts of AAS are in SA.
Its 100% legal to possess any AAS if it is for personal use (a dozen or so vials of AAS +hundreds of tabs - forget the exact amounts).

In SA it's not legal to possess any scheduled medications without a prescription.

EDIT: Make sure you read the rules, because your other question which I didn't approve will get you banned here.

Act 90 of 1997
Section 13.
“Control of medicines and Scheduled substances"
( 1 ) Subject to this section. no person shall sell, have in his or her
possession
or manufacture any medicine or Scheduled substance except in
accordance with the prescribed conditions.

Section 18.
“(1 ) Any person who is convicted of an offence referred to in section
13 shall be liable to a fine not exceeding R40 000, or to imprisonment
for a period not exceeding 10 years or to both such fine and such
imprisonment"

These are the amended sections of the old Medicines and Related Substances Control Amendment Act.

Regarding enforcement, note the predicament of Frank Nabolisa recently. One of the charges which secured him 30 years imprisonment was possession of a large quantity of paracetamol.
