Bacne was created by Relinquish99
Hi everyone

Just wondering if anyone has some sort of solution to back acne? Possibly over the counter?
Don't want to go to a dermatologist incase they do blood work.
Any suggestions out there?

Currently using:
Dianabol 30mg per day
Deca 200mg per week
Test 200mg per week
Tren 200mg per week

I have terrible bacne from TRT alone. I think I've tried everything possible.
Acne has two causes:
Sebum production
Delayed Re-epitheliasation of the skin
Here is my list on how to cure androgenic bacne:

Cleansers will only suppress the acne and does not treat the underlying cause.
However, if you want to use one, I'd reccomend a cleanser which exfoliates (to improve re-epitheliasation), has salicylic acid and hylaronic acid (Neutrogena has a good range with such requirements).

5-alpha reducatase inhibitors:
Finasteride will not work in reducing androgenic acne since it works at the type-2 isozyme of 5-a reducatse which is found in the scalp and prostate, and not the skin.
However, theoretically Dutasteride might aid in reducing androgenic acne since it inhibits both type-1 and type-2 isozymes of 5-a reducatse which means in prevents DHT from affecting the scalp, prostate, liver and SKIN.

Isoretinoins:
These are the only clinically proven cures for acne (the pill that women go on is not a cure, it is a supressor), these should prevent acne from ever recurring since it targets both causes of acne.
Topical Isoretinoin: Whilst this does work, it is very expensive and is better left to smaller areas such as the face and not the back.
Systemic Isoretinoin: this is the gold standard at a dose of 120mg to 150mg per kg of bodyweight giving you the total dose to use over the course of 180 days. So you divide the total dose by 180 to get your daily dose and I would preferably start low and titrate up.

These are all the methods that have enough clinical research to be used.

Anecdotally speaking,
I have found increasing my testosterione injection frequency to EOD had the largest effect on my skin. This prevents fluctuations with DHT and oestrogen ratios.

Thank for taking the time to respond
Very detailed feedback!

Are any of these available without prescription? If not is there something I can try that's "over the counter"?

Regards

Doximal (Doxicycline) worked very well for my back acne. I found out by accident when I took it to protect against malaria on holiday. My skin started clearing up nicely in a few weeks and then I found out it's also prescribed for acne treatment.

Sorry I completely forgot about this. I did go on a course of doxycycline for 3 months but it didn’t work for me personally. However, before considering isoretinoin I would do a course of antibiotics first since they are not as harmful.

Doxycycline can be purchased in most pharmacies over the counter if you perhaps lie and say you’re going to an area with malaria. I would first try the antibiotic with a cleanser and see how you respond. Isoretinions require a prescription. Some steroid dealers do stock accutane.

Doxycycline should be used at a dose of around 100mg per day. Nausea may be encountered in the first few days but this tends to subside. Take it on an empty stomach in the morning if possible. Also, remember to use more sun block due to photo sensitivity.

To echo what LesD said, smaller daily injections has had a very noticeable reduction in bacne for me.

At even 120mg per week split into 2 injections a week, my back looks like a connect-the-dot puzzle.

I would guess this would be better estrogen managements or DHT levels with smaller more frequent injections.

Anecdotally for me, acne specifically coming from gear use, was always an T/E2 ratio imbalance.
Worth mentioning imo since acne has multiple causes.

Even wrt Isotretinoin, it will not prevent future breakouts guaranteed, probably a bad idea to mix with any oral steroid, especially stanozolol.
Not to mention dry joints etc from isotretinoin alone are arguably worse than stanozolol.

Exfoliate twice a week (max) on non-consecutive days. Monday and Friday works well. Gives your skin time to recover.
A lot of bacne is due to fungal causes so ketoconazole shampoo will be useful.
A bit of sun exposure for 15 minutes a day without sunscreen (max if light-skinned) will be useful. Other times, make sure you are wearing sunscreen.
Gentle moisturizer. Cetaphil has a gentle moisturizer, but you can also use Epimax as well which is pretty brilliant actually.
Try that to start off. Good luck.
