Have any of you heard about this or even better, tried it?

This is the eating plan endorsed by CrossFit Inc and crossfitters swear by it. The diet plan is apparently even part of the CrossFit Study material and forms part of the written exam that people have to do in order to become certified CrossFit trainers.

A few people at my gym have recently become certified trainers and they are preaching this diet as if it is going to save all humanity. A lot of people have listened and are now following this plan.

Those that are sticking by it and especially the newly certified trainers are going nuts about the results. Those that wanted to add some muscle mass claim to have done so and those that wanted to drop bodyfat also claim that they have managed to do so. So fat guys getting thin and thin guys getting bigger all on the same diet. How does that work?

I read up a bit on the CrossFit website and they claim that you can regulate your insulin levels as well as boost performance. I must say that the guys that are on this diet appear to be performing better than they were but it sounds a bit too good to be true.

Maybe Dj will concur or more likely, debunk

Bud from what i know of the zone diet is that it is a diet that has moderate carbs and fats and protein split through out the day, obviously lower in carbohydrates 200g a day roughly. This is something very similar to what i put you on with the 6 meals a day, with protein carbs and fats in each meal due to your sporting type, we then modified the carbs and fats the lower hen for 3 days then increased the carbs for one day. Carb cycling u to try and get leaner...

Awe mnr

Get the book by Tom venuto Burn the fat feed the muscle. He compares some diets like the zone and atkins etc in there. I think it's got more to do with macro ratios than anything else. It's something like 40/40/20. Id rather follow the instructions in Tom's book. I learned alot in there. About macro's and tapering etc. According to me the zone diet is just another fad. I bet DJ's advice is just as good,if not better! ;)

Well if it's similar to what you gave me, I can understand why they are happy with it ;) I'll look into it a bit more and perhaps follow it for a while until it is time for my next cycle, at which point I'll be under your watchful eye again mr DJ B)

The carb cycling really worked well by the way bud. Thanks for that
