I worked my own meat. Leanest mince you can get. Have a kudu and a springbok in the freezer!Thunderbeast wrote: just a tip: a lot of game farms (trophy hunting) will sell meat (ussually whole carcases) for very cheap. as little as R14 a kilo. So if you are willing to work a bit and cut your own meat and have a contact.... just saying

Bandit wrote: My kudu weighed in at 110 kgs and springbok at 20 odd. Also broght back 10kgs billies and 10kgs of wors. I sold all the billies and wors and in turn paid for my kudu and springbok. Definitely shoot 2 or 3 kudus next year. Well worth it. Just need to upgrade my box deepfreeze...

SV wrote: Also hunted a kudu cow last weekend, carcass weighed 100kg's. Big for a cow. Must work the meat this weekend. Game meat is very nice, and I know what is in the meat.
Must still go and shoot some blue wildebeeste and swart wildebeest, and some blesbuck this year as well. Still trying to convince SO that we need a bigger chest freezer

No admin, how can you say they stink? Meat is very nice, fine texture. Yes, it is a bit wilder thank kudu etc, but not as much as rooibok or vlakvark.
with some roosmaryn, honey and olive oil it is awesome

It's very easy to catch a blesbok as well, when you get one away from the herd all you have to do is drive next to it and grab it by the horns. They always run in a straight line when alone... You better hold on though... lol
I guess it's just personal taste, because I really don't like blesbuck.

lol dude. I must say, kudu are not dumb. Quite clever actually. It ducks its head behind a branch the minute you want to shoot it. Move from bush to bush and if you're not quick enough *poof* just disappears. Was quite impressed at its tactics.MRfeathers wrote: blesbuck must be one of the dumbest animals. you can practically throw one dead with a rock on my uncles farm.
