So this is a diet that was givien to me. I asked a personal trainer for a custom diet and told him how much i weigh and how much i want to shed.

No idea of values of calories etc. Been wanting to check it for days but can't seem find my lil calorie book that tells me how much calories, fats, carbs etc. :( Will purchase one over the weekend.

I did ask him about chicken breast and he said i can only have one breast max a day.

FOK load of food!

He said i must just follow it for two weeks, i can see myself getting bored of fish! Blegh.

Meal 1 - 1/2 cup of oats, 1/2 cup of skim milk, 2 scoops of whey protein.

Meal 2 - 8 almonds and whey protein shake.

Meal 3 - Haddock/hake/kingklip - 120g, 1 1/2 cups of veg - no carrots, peas, corn, butternut or pumpkin, 1 tbsp of olive oil.

Meal 4 - Same again.

Meal 5 - Salmon 120g (or white fish), 1 1/2 cup of veg or salad and 1/4 avo.

Meal 5 - Whey protein with water before bed.

Decent diet that! You should do pretty well on it especially if you train hard. Just can't see anyone sticking to it for longer than two weeks. So many shakes and no variety. Eish!

Well i did tell him i don't eat red meat... hence all that fish!

Ya, looks boring as hell!

I was thinking of taking the protein shake out of meal 2.

As much as a love oats, it gives me BAD heart burn - got to do with some growth on my gall bladder. So thinking of just adding eggs - two with yolk and one with white and maybe just having a whey shake.

If i took the oats out...think this diet could throw me into ketosis?

Yeah diet looks good. You could replace some of the fish with chicken if you really want to. But fish is ideal.

Yep, he said 1 chicken breast max!

Think i'll blend the chicken and veg and make a soup - only add herbs. Going to battle to take in that extra meal after lunch.

No, not with the oats.

I still have my mind set on a keto diet, BUT was wondering if i took out the oats and added eggs, then would my body go into ketosis?

Oh, and i don't drink milk...so milk is another thing that i took out from the diet given to me.

The message I am trying to get accross is that if you want to have a keto diet then go to the blackboard and design a keto diet from scratch and make it damn decent! Don't just take any other diet, and try to make it something it is not? There's a lot more to keto than simply not eating carbs friend.

Okie dokes B)

I have been reading a lot about ketogenic diet...the Dave P keto diet and the regular one. Trying to decide which one i should use as a guide line...that's the thing about the internet...more you read the more questions you are left with. :blink:

Guess the only way to know what works for you is to try one and see how its works for you...

I dropped a lot of weight when i did...

Spin class.

Meal 1 - One cup of oats and scoop of whey.

Meal 2 - Plain yoghurt and nuts.

Meal 3 - Chicken breast/tuna and cup of veg.

Meal 4 - Plain yoghurt.

Gym - weights.

Meal 5 - Same as meal 3.

Two months later - 10kgs down.

BUT i know i wasn't eating enough and always felt so tired.

So now just want to do it properly.

Anyways, will give that diet a bash and also do more research on Ketogenic diet.
