Hi :)

I have been trying to put together an eating plan for my friend and I...but have noticed that although the day's meals stay within the daily calories needed, I am battling to get the carb % up enough. Fat and Protein percentages are fine, but it's just the carbs that are too low. Not sure why this is or what to do?

So I was wondering if anyone could give me some ideas on foods that are higher in carbs and lower in fats.

Sweet potato, oats, basmati rice, couscous.

Another question which I am confused about.

Olive Oil.

I know that it is healthier than other oils and that they are part the "good fats". But they are so high in fat and it affects the fat intake for the day. Is it ok to have olive oil still even though 1 tablespoon is over 100 calories already?? Or would it be better to use a spray and cook olive oil?

I assume you are referring to cooking with it?

If the olive oil fits your macros then use it. I normally use spray and cook, coconut oil or I dry fry things, I don't like using olive oil for cooking.

Also consider using macadamia oil for cooking. Tastes good and it contains the highest amount of monounsaturated fats of any oil. Good stuff.

Coconut oil is also resistant to high temps which makes it a good option, but it is high in saturated fat.

lean meat...egg whites ...fish = good fat or tinned tuna in water ..chicken fillets ..ostrich lean mince and steak
P nut butter but has good fat omega 6..whey protein ..

At 30g per 100g it is not the highest but add to tuna and u have a high protein with fat meal ...

You do not get the full amino acid profile so those 30g of Proteins don´t do much.

All proteins from plants are well known to be inferior except for Soy being not as much but still inferior. Charna I am in Germany have no idea what´s going down in SA TV atm.
