The more I look into this the more our ideas on here seem to be floored..? In general most things I've read say at least 2 to 3G of carbs per pound of body weight on a bulk and at least 1.5g per pound on a cut.
Now for say me @ 92 that's 400 to 600g on a bulk and no less than 300 on a cut...

What are your guys thoughts? To me it's sound, I've upped my carbs with DJ to well over 300 and I'm still leaning out and feel better. Now I'm thinking that I've wasted my last 2 cycles cycling at only about 300g per day and feel that the carbs only around workout idea is BS and the only protein and fat only meal should be just before bed..?

And on that point what's the optimal protein intake ? I find anything more than 1.5g per pound is a waist as all I do is fart more if I go over 300g even on cycle I stink

I'm not trying to stir the pot but we all seem to follow a low carb diet on here and I'm just not sure it's the way anymore unless you BF is over 15.

Thanks lads appreciate your opinions

I no were all different but we are all trying to ultimately gain mass so what macros do you guys follow? I was followed 50/30/20 but now more like 40/40/20 and am thinking 35/50/15 would be better on a bulk and what I'm doing now to cut.

i've also had a similar problem the last few months. I've had some unwanted fat on my abs and just assumed i should cut carbs to get rid of it. I started to only eat small carb meals and only at breakfast and lunch and then dextrose post workout. i kept protein very high all this time. since the fat didn't go away, i just kept on lowering carbs and upping cardio, but to no avail! i then removed one protein only meal and added in carbs to dinner(always an hour after training) and i've now achieved better results. I also know all the bodybuilding magazines are very pro carbs and advise you to take carbs with every meal.

So ja, can't really give you an answer, but i'm also very curious as to what the correct amount of protein is! but for next year i'm planning on running more carbs and less protein to see what that does
