so i have seen alot of this on the forum these days about not counting calories from certain food sources and let me tell u that its gonna cause havok for guys trying to diet properly..

let me give u an example of a daily meal plan :

meal 1
4 full eggs

meal 2
200g chicken
200g green beans
200g potato
10ml olive oil

meal 3
40g whey protein
50g oats

meal 4
200g chicken
200g green beans
200g potato
10ml olive oil

meal 5
40g whey protein
50g oats

meal 6
200g lean beef (10%) mince
150g cooked white rice

now if u don't count all the macro nutrients from certain things such as the protein and fats from oats, the carbs and proteins from vegetables(i know alot of u dont!) the protein from potatoes (yes they have protein in them) the fats from the chicken breasts, the carbs from eggs (yes they have slight amount of carbs too) then u will come to a diet that is 2225 calories a day,216g protein, 170g carbs and 68g fats but u need 2600 calories a day, so u add more food. but if u were actually take all the calories in all food sources into consideration, like the protein and fats in the oats, the protein in the potatoes, the carbs in the eggs, the 2g of fat for chicken, all of these things u would realize that this diet here is 2625 calories with macro nutrients of 247g protein,206g carbs and 79g fats, so u have just discounted 400 calories out of a diet, but u are adding those calories back in but forgetting the hidden nutrients again.

so u end up eating this to make up your 400 calories by adding more food in but it ends up being 600 calories in, which means u end up eating close to 3200 calories a day when u needed only 2600 calories a day so u wonder why your diet doesnt work and u end up getting fat when u are trying to maintain or even cut!

dont be stupid guys, calories are all calories, be it vegetable proteins or bad carb sources from nuts etc, those calories are still calories and don't disappear like magic!

when in doubt just google food sources and there will be tons of stuff with nutritional information on each food u have googled! that way u can see that haddock is a lean fish, and that oats has proteins and fats in it if not u are gonna be overshooting your nutritional requirements daily!

god knows why bro, its the same mentality of if food is the same color it must have the same nutritional value, so cauliflower is white,so that means white chocolate has the same calories, and the same kinda people think marshmallow easter eggs are only fattening if u eat the yolk of the marshmallow egg....

This is one of the main reasons I use something like MyFitnessPal when planning out a new diet. Don't miss a single calorie. Well try at least.
