Some general cooking tips!! was created by Flex
I love the way I cook and prep my foods but looking for more ideas and things people have tried. Advantages and disadvantages of each. Let me know how you cook your food!

Sweet Potatoes
I used to slice them in thick slices and pop them in the Microwave, but they came out quite dry and tasteless. With my current prep I am boiling them and then mashing them. My only worries then are nutrients lost as a result of boiling. I love leaving the skin on.

Rice
I just pop it in a bowl with water into the Microwave for 15 minutes, then Rinse the rice.

Hake
I used to fry my rice on a frying pan with just cook and spray. But my wife discovered that you can cook it in the microwave with no oil needed at all. Just 2 min each side of the fish.
I also cook it with the skin, love the taste and as far as I know lots of nutritional value in the skin.

Eggs
They are a shlep to cook/boil or anything. So just drink it!

Broccoli
I love my broccoli fresh, so I just steam it in a plastic bag in the microwave for 1 min just to soften it up a bit.

Hope this makes someones prep a bit easier. Let me know what you like to do for some new ideas!

When I make mince I brown it in a pot then top the pot off with boiling water till the water is above the mince, i then pour the mince into a sieve to drain off the water and any fat that floats off the mince, i then return it to the pot, heat it up, add add fried onions and mushrooms and a tin of tomato and onion then portion it out, makes your mince as lean as chicken I then add my fats to the mince when i reheat the mince from healthier sources such as peanut butter. Sounds weird but peanut butter and mince is 2 of my meals daily during my prep.
