Cravings and what to do? was created by Juandre
:woohoo:
Ok so I've been on a diet consisting of protein and greens and still can't fight the craving for sweet "foods". Please help me? Is there something to prevent this craving.

Thanks :)

You have to ask yourself why is your body craving sweet things. It will have something to do with the reward function or your body trying to consume something to actual balance your system. Low carbohydrates have their place, specially among Diabetics (latest studies done). Many people are not able to do low carb diets or no carb diets / keto.. The thing to remember you are already playing with hormones when using steroids and now you are playing with neurotransmitters.. For you to stay strong when on a diet and furthermore to stay healthy, you need to listen to what your body is telling you.. Losing weight is such a easy concept to achieve.. Workout your required calories per day and minus 250-500 depending on how quick your metabolism is plus where you are at with your transformation or what your requirements are for losing weight/body fat. The other option is to keep your sustained calorie intake and just add a dedicated cardiovascular day and/or add 20 minutes after a workout, again this being a protocol to implement by listening to your body, eg: not being fatigued or falling prone to a weak immune system.

Farrrr in the beggining when i started out i also had cravings but in the end you accept you dont need them anymore. What i could suggest is maybe provita and some peanut butter with honey on always helped me. Or celery sticks and peanut butter or rooibos tea no milk with abit of honey so its lekka sweet. Just watch out to much honey will result in the same effect as sugar so just watch how much just a tad. Can even turn to fruit but again not to many cause that is natural sugars again. hope this helps

Protein and greens only? Where's the fats and/or traditional carbs (yams, brown rice, etc)?

Stimulants such as caffeine are rather effective at suppressing appetite (just be careful not to become dependant on them)

If your "sugar cravings" are really bad, you might want to get something like a coke zero which has negligible calories, which might temporarily satisfy your craving.

Ideally the best scenario would be just to fight through the craving and train yourself mentally to cope without refined sugars, imo.

You are on a zero carb diet and this is 100% normal! Your body needs to adapt to using fats for energy and not carbs. Before you reach a state where your body does this effectively it will crave easy cabs (i.e easy energy) like sugars and pastries and junk food. During this phase you will feel very bad just stick through it. DO NOT eat any form of carbs as you immediately put yourself back at step 1. To help the cravings chromium is the answer. 600-1000mcg when you feel them coming and drink 1L of water. Be sure to stay hydrated as this causes bad cravings.

If you want it bad enough you will keep yourself dedicated and motivated to stick to the diet 100%. For me there was nothing that made it better, except imagine the end goal and it all being worth it!
Goodluck!! :woohoo:

Chromium in FFF. ;) Also the Yohimbine and Synephrine play a roll in appetite suppression.

Good info here. How about niacin? Is it effective for cravings as well?
