Have you had fasted insulin tests done as you may need to be on a glucose disposal agent if insulin is too high? have you had estrogen tested as if that is high you may as well give up eating in total and you will still gain weight, have you yaken your tempreature? Even with normal thyroid results if your body temperature is low that can be a sign of low thyroid levels. If you say carbs are bloating you then get a food allergy test done so that you can see which carbs your body can tolerate and work at optimum. Do you take the pill and if so which one?

Clueless post this.

I think the lads on here want her to try the more obvious solutions like changing her diet rather than assuming that something is wrong with her which is a fair call. You don't need to make her worry about whether she has issues xy and z.

Yes that's right Hormonas! One example, it is proven that an underactive thyroid will only cause a minor amount of fat gain ( in the region of 5kg in bad cases) and this is always the excuse of the lazy/uneducated- just blame genetics. You don't get chemotherapy because you are tired of shaving your head. All of these problems Steve is talking about are insignificant compared to counting calories which Chants is obviously not doing. When I looked at that diet I had to re-read Chants' I first post because I thought Chants was trying to bulk and or I must have missed something.

Hey Chants I hope that foot has just about sorted itself out and you are able to train properly again. At the end of the day you know your own body better than anyone else that diet looks good to me provided your training is in order give it try see how your body responds and adjust it accordingly its a case of trial and error you will soon know what works best for you everyones bodies are different dont be scared to play around with diet with in reason of course. I'm sure you will have your diet dialed in, in no time. Maybe do some before and after photos so we can see how u progress.

In all fairness, I see nothing wrong with SteveC's questions/post. I don't think it's clueless at all. It's far easier to tackle the problem once you know what is going on re blood work as opposed to taking a "wild" guess. Why waste time guessing when you can have blood work done, have the results within a few days and rule out major metabolic deficiencies. Perhaps there really is something going on, rather find out sooner than later.

Which is more likely, Chants does not lose weight because she doesn't count calories, or because she has some underlying problem she doesn't know about?
