Potatoes-the good,bad,when and how was created by 2chainz
I remember hearing or reading somewhere when I was young that Arnie got that big eating like a pocket of potatoes a day and true or false it stuck in my head as the food to eat to grow big muscles.the other one is eggs(throw the 2 together with some mayo and you got magic how can it not be good)but eggs for another day.watching what I eat is new to me and knowing what to eat and when is gonna take some time but we all gotta star somewhere so where best but at the humble potato.i love them and don't mind eating tem all day but should I that is the thing?now I know chopped and deep fried is a sin so that's out.love me some boiled or baked potatoes with some garlic dunno bout the people I speak to but thats their problem.so my question is when should I be eating potatoes pre workout or post workout or all day?i workout a bit in the morning at home with a run and then main workout in the evening.and should there be a reasonable limit on how many I eat a day.

Yeah everything has a reasonable limit. Depending on your goals and calorie requirements that is going to determine how many potatoes you can consume. The best time to consume your potatoes is 2-3hours pre workout with your pre workout meal and then again within one hour after training after your post workout shake. Always remember that a pre and post workout whole food meal is very important but timing of your meals are just as important.

Breakfast 04:45, oats with three scoops of protein powder and warm water plus a tall glass of water.

Remember, Arnie was the master of mindgames. He was competing to win. At all costs. At the 1975 Olympia held here in SA, Lou Ferrigno was a genuine threat to Arnie winning. The night before finals he phoned Lou's mom and commiserated her on Lou coming 3rd or 4th. Obviously she phoned him (bear in mind, in those days international phone calls were a mission involving several exchages) and that little stunt psyched Lou out completely and he bombed.

He also tells a story of some German bodybuilder who was an ardent fan asking for advice during a comp. Arnie told him that the latest posing techniques incorporated a scream when you flex. He even "practised" with the guy for some time. Needless to say, at stage time the poor guy looked a complete tool screaming and grunting during his routine. Pity there wasn't youtube then.

So I can imagine him letting "slip" that a pocket of potatoes a day was his "Secret". Somehwere some poor sod was force feeding himself that a day and wonering why he's just getting fat. More than likely, being a marketing genius to boot, he was paid by the potato lobby to say that so that every youngster wanted to eat potatoes and boost sales.

If you looking to add, and an easy way to grow... white rice flour or potato flour (80g carbs per 100g)... whey and egg whites... add a Blender and boom. Easy Calories to drink.

Add peanut butter If you like too.. bulking made easy. B) squeeze the smoothies in where ever you can between meals :evil:

Trust me, you get sick of chewing food.and force feeding yourself to grow. If you serious about building a decent frame it's helpful ways to assist.
