Protein sources was created by C2K
Hi,

What are your preferred low carb protein sources especially for affordability, quality and convenience (prep) and when on the move/out of office? I am currently using tuna tins and pilchards as well. I put it on rice cakes for a quick snack. Fortunately we have a kitchen at work so I can prep it right here. I'm always looking for some new options. I used to chow the chicken viennas but the high fat content was messing up my calorie targets - they so addictive as well.

Thanks!

Hard boiled egg whites, cottage cheese (low fat), slow cooked shredded chicken.

I also like biltong but the salt can get a bit much for me. The droewors is amazing but thats high fat so you have to be careful, not very easy to limit yourself when its so good. Also, not the cheapest options around. :)

Yip, I like these as well. Are you talking about the egg whites in a bottle from Woolies or do you separate it yourself. I can't bear throwing away an egg yolk, seems like such a waste.

I separate myself. If you can fit the fat into your macros no need to throw away the yolks.

My dogs absolutely love the wasted egg yolks and as soon as they see me with an egg, they sit at attention and wait for their snack.

Fairly sure we can discuss prices of food on here... just not anything illegal? Hence the supplement special section etc

Why you guys buying eggs??
Why just don’t buy the yolks??

They sell them in 5kg bags, split it into desired containers and freeze!!
Defrost and use!!
