So my question is simple how important is meal timing? Yes of course pre and post workout meals are crucial etc.. But is it really that important to eat every 2-3 hours even if you still at the end of the day get your needed calories in?

Hi, bud.

If you are natural then meal timing is very important.

You want to get in a breakfast with Carbs and Protein as soon as possible as when you wake up your Cortisol will be high and that meal will lower it.

Then consuming your daily protein and carb alotment diveded throughout the day is crucial for a nutural person as this fuels muscle protein synthesis, an enhanched person has the MPS clock running 24/7 this what steroids were designed to do and also why adequite calories and macros are just as important to make the most of your cycle.

In short a enhanced person has more lee way with regards to meal timing as the juice keeps you anabic but hitting calories and macros is still important. For the Natural it is crucial that timing and calories and macros are spot on.

Also not that for a Natural you can not train with the same Volume as en Enhanched person, but frequency is the friend of a Nutural.

It is on you. It always has been...

anything under 3 meals a day is iffy imo. anything above 5 and i lowkey wanna die.

i would say most important meals are pre and post workout, and intra if ur above 100kg and ur advanced. as well as breakfast is highly underrated as u just fasted for 8+ hours without food.

my meals go:

breakfast
preworkout meal
post workout meal
dinner
snack
sleep repeat

but if ur only eating pre and post workout. ur leaving room for gains. and if u eat too much pre workout i feel like it impedes with performance in the gym.

so technically the answer to ur question is, it depends.

if ur 60kg newbie i dont think meal timing isnt as important a 90kg trained advanced gym-bro.

but at the same time the newbie shouldnt be eating only 2 meals a day. since this just isnt optimal for protein/nutrient partitioning.

If majority of meals are solid protein, they can take 2 to 3 hours to digest depending on the protein type, amount of fiber in each meal, how much fat each meal has. Eg cream of rice and whey protein will digest faster than chicken and potato.

The body doesn't just suddenly go into shock because you haven't eaten a meal in 3 hours and start sacrificing muscle. It's not built like that. At the end of the day, what meal timing suits you to stay compliant with your diet long term? That is big thing.
