Carb alternatives? was created by Novice!
Howzit Guys,

What do you guys use as your carb sources?
I mainly eat brown rice cause its cheap and easy but eating it 4-5 times a day is getting a bit much..

Have any of you seen or used wholewheat noodles?
The carbs, proteins, fats etc. are almost identical to that of brown rice but i don't know their GI?

Would they be a good replacement instead of rice for 2 meals a day?

cheers.

I think you'll be able to use sweet potato instead of brown rice.

I also use oats & brown rice.

I like throwing in basmatti rice every now and then. I get a 5kg bag for like R80 from my local spice shop. Brown rice is a better for you because of it's fiber but does get a bit much.
