Cardio in AM vs PM was created by Tippster
Hi

If I were to do cardio (about 1 hr) in the evening and weight training in the morning (I prefer the spining classes in the evening :)) would swapping this around have better results (cardio am and weights pm) to burn fat - in both cases I would have the same calorie def about 1000 calories a day but cardio in the evenings would obviously be after meals with carbs so my glycogen stores would be fuller than as I wake up.

Anyone have any opinions on this?

Thanks

It is a matter of personal choice, but cardio in the early morning will burn more fat than in the evening. This I know from a lot of research and personal experience.

If everybody does it, is it still cheating?

Cardio in the mornings on an empty stomach would definitely yeild better fat burning results!!!

Give it a shot, you're only TESTing it...

it doesnt really matter when u do it,as long as u are burning up those calories, energy in must be lower than energy used in order to burn fat. as long as u are eating enough for the amount of cardio u are doing then its a winner other wise welcome to over training

Training weights in the morning is anyway not a good idea in my opinion. You havnt eaten in 8+ hours and you just woke up which means you're stiff and more prone to injury. Most guys dont warm up enough anyway. Its a ticket to injury & overtraining unless you got a very good diet and stretch VERY properly before the time.

Sure what you saying may be true, but I'd rather start training at 05h00 in the morning than being in our Virgin Active at night.

when I could go to gym in the mornings, Cardio was the best, found it worked better for me.

Changed my gym during the weeks though, Virgin is just too packed and its such a mission to get anything done while waiting in a queue for equipment

Cardio in the mornings really boosts ur metabolism for the whole day whereas at night u get a metabolism boost but the duration is shorter because u sleep a couple of hours later
