Help with cravings please!! was created by krielos
Hi Guys,

Can anyone tell me what they do to suppress cravings when dieting. I have been dieting fine for more than 4 weeks now with great results. Am using HEAT which suppresses my appetie nicely.I have a 2 cheat meals on Sundays. My problem is that now for the past few days I am craving all kinds of shit like pizza, MCDonalds, Kentucky etc. I do not feel hunger but for some reason I have these bloody cravings that are driving me insane. Waht can I do to get rid of these.

You need to snack on Biltong or peanuts, or popcorn...
You will need to give your body SOMETHING when you have these cravings, so, just try give it good stuff.
And then for your 2 cheat meals on Sundays, have the pizza or MacD's etc.

I know what its like!!!!! Also getting to me now!

Give it a shot, you're only TESTing it...

Thanks for your reply. It seems to be a mental thing not so much a physical craving. Wouldn't the biltong, peanuts or popcorn add unwanted kilojoules and salt to your diet? Should I not fight it and rather have these when i crave? I am scared that once I give in its gonna make me want more.

Okay I will try ostrich biltong. The only problem would be the high sodium content but rather that than bingeing on crap...and gaining fat.

EXACTLY ;-)

Also, try pop corn, its fat free etc.

A whey protein shake, as crap as it sounds, usually helps with my cravings.

Sometimes when u crave something continually its because your body is trying to tell u that it needs something that its not getting. Is there something that you have cut out your diet completely. Perhaps salt, did u cut salt out? This is a common one, if you cut it out completely your body may be wanting it in order to restore electrolytes

Hi,

Yes I have cut out sodium as it increases subcutaneous water retention and am only getting it from the food I eat like egg whites etc...

Ok well i think maybe u should add a little bit more salt to your diet, not too much, and see if it helps. The fast foods u are craving are high in salt so thats why i figure u are craving them. If u dont want to add salt maybe try getting an electrolyte mix from dischem, those little sachets and see if that helps

It is the salt your craving. I have the same problem.

If you always put limit on everything you do, physical or anything else. It will spread into your work and into your life. There are no limits. There are only plateaus, and you must not stay there, you must go beyond them.

Try not to write sodium off as completely bad. It has a lot of pretty good benefits when it comes to training. Helping to prevent cramps comes to mind. Rather try and find the right amount of intake for your body than cutting iot out completely. B)
