Bedtime snack was created by tiny
I need some info here guys,i cant seem to figure this 1 out so good. For my bedtime snack i sometimes have 30g casein and 2 tbs peanut butter(carbs included),then i sleep right through the night, but i was thinking about the insulin spike the carbs give at that late hour.Wont it store fat because my physical levels is like -0 at that time?

Then when i just have the casein without the carbs,i wake up at about 2am with a hole in my stomach, then i cant sleep till i eat something again.

So which is better for a bedtime snack - protein and very little or no carbs?
or - protein with carbs?

depending on your body type... I allways add a carb, (very slow acting) and not much 20 grams or so with around 40 grams protein before bed... I don't want my body using to much of the protein for energy, hence adding a carb.

Hey tiny, I believe you should restrict carbs as much as possible right before bed but I hear you when you say you wake up real hungry.
Try having some whey mixed with cottage cheese right before bed. I find this works really well for me but I do through a 3/4 tub every evening which gets pricey

Im not sure that PB has that many carbs in it in the first place. As far as I know its probably the best thing to take with Casien. Also the EFA's in PB/Macadamia Nut butter will deliver the Protein over a longer period, regulates Hormones such a GH when you are sleeping.

Number 1 choice in my books.

 What?
What type of cottage cheese should I use?
Low fat, fat free, smooth, chunky?
I can't stand cottage cheese, even though I know its good protein. :X
Would really like to try this out. :)
Excellent for the next cutting cycle..
