when trying to get lean is fruit friend or is it foe? i know that cutting out simple carbs is one of the best aids to getting lean but surely fructose is not a good idea? would really like to know what your guys thoughts are on this...

Hi. The fibre in the fruit cause the fructose to be absorbed more slowly. The effect of the sugar is not that bad or great then. Fruit has to many benefits to be a foe.

from what i have read and been told it is important to keep simple carbs in and around training, obviously this is to give u a quick source of energy and to replenish glycogen post training.

now when your only form of simple carbs are taken in post workout,will the occasional snacking on a grapefruit or an apple hinder your fat loss progression?it just lately i have been craving sweet things and instead of hitting the cupboard for a sugar snack(if there are any in the house) I've been maybe having a handful of raisins or an apple or grapefruit...obviously the fruit is better than sucrose but if it is going to hinder my progress then I'm gonna have to restrain myself and suck on a sweetener tablet ;)

Green apples are low GI , depends on what fruit it is. You get HI gi and low GI fruits.

If your dieitng stick to low...

I eat an apple every day :)

so do i ;) hehe,does it keep the doctor away kevin? eating an apple a day doesnt keep me away from the pharmacist :D but thats for other reasons ;)

Easy E, I would personally only take fruit immediately post wo. Don't like th idea of snacking on carb whilst trying to get bf low... Hmmm, that just my 2c

personally i have my apple pre w/o makes me feel a lot better in the gym with a bit of carbs running through my system :-) but then again thats just me
