How much protien in 100 ml of egg white.

Hi Guys,

Can anyone tell me how much protien is in 100 ml of egg white. I am not sure as 100 grams only equates to 100 ml if the substance measured is plain water. I am planning on buying bulk egg whites and would like an answer if anyone has it.

Well, you would measure it by the gram... as it is powder.
If you have 100g of Egg Whites powder, and put it in however much water you wanted, you would still have 100g of Egg Whites, and if you finished all the water, you would have consumed the full 100g of Egg whites...

I think its roughly 9-12 grams of protein per 100grams, so i guess you can just weigh it, instead of measuring in ml's...

Thanks for your replies. You see I am gonna buy 5 kg buckets of liquid egg whites from Nu-laid here in Cape Town. And wanted to get an idea of the protien content in 100 ml thus I would be able to just measure it off as I consume it. Thus the question. As far as I could ascertain 100ml has about 9 grams of protien.

Hi BB guy,

I have purchased and used it before but I stopped as I used to waste alot off the protien. You have to consume it all in about a week or so. I tried freezing it but didnt like the texture and taste after I defrosted it. This time I aim to finish 5 kg per week which would reduce my protien shake usage also. The egg whites are quite cheap especially if you take your own container(about R50 for 5kg). It is not pasteurised so you have to cook it(not that I consume egg whites raw). I would say a good deal if you dont mind a few blood speckles in the egg white. The same as you sometimes find in eggs when you seperate them.
