Diet with JB's cycle was created by JB

I've posted a few comments on my thread in the Cycle Discussion forum, but the diet is attached here.

I just copied out the basics, but all the nutritional values and P/C/F ratios are calculated.

Only changes so far:
1. Carbs at breakfast - 100g oats increased to 150g (dry weight before I cook it)
2. Basmati rice is replaced with sweet potatoes.
3. Supplements pre workout and n-training supps will be different.
4. I'm trying out a "No Salt" product (potassium chloride); but no clue whether this will help in maintaining low levels of subcutaneous water.

I prefer eating clean and stick to whole foods. But the time spent preparing the meals is ridiculous!

I'm want to change two meals to a whey protein and carb (like oats) meal. Would there be any downsides to this? The fast absorbing & easy digestible protein can only be beneficial right?

All the whole foods is also bloating my stomach as hard as a rock and it's uncomfortable to train like this.

I have a few more questions but would like to read your inputs first.

Thanks guys!

does not look to bad at all. I would like to see what DJ thinks of this and get some feedback from him.

Forgot to change a few other things:
The ostrich mince for lunch is usually a bit more than 200g (and always Klein Karoo ostrich haha!)

I struggle to get enough fat in my diet, been adding some avo with two or three meals. And with the high carb breakfast, I leave out the flax oil and add it later during the day.

Is there any good info/experiences on not combining high carb meals with fat?

in your breakfast swop the flax for 2 egg yolks, and then take the fats out from your dinner meal, add fats to your second meals and take them away from your last meal,i usually do all the meals to be equal calorie content but if you are having carbs through out the day rather have your fats earlier in the the day and just protein at night.dont change the meals just add in 2 whey shakes to your solid meals.the bloating might be from a gluten or wheat allergy, drop the oats and try out 80-120 of mealie meal instead of the the oats.try it out...

I use Chris Aceto's Championship Bodybuilding as reference for the basic principles. He focusses on high carb meals at breakfast and post workout. Low(er) carb meals during the rest of the day.

I will follow this strategy for the week. Halved the carbs of meal 2 to 4; included lots of free veg to bulk it up.

With all meals equal calorie content, do you still have carbs at night? Or do you up the protein because it seems like you avoid fat at night?

I'm in two minds about carbs at night. My precontest diet years ago did not cut out carbs at night (it was clean and low GI though) and I read in an article from Hilton Preen (who seems to know how to get shredded) that carbs at night are fine.

What I hate about my last meal (before I take my casein supp) is the way my blood sugar drops, sometimes hectic like when you're on insulin. Heavy sweating, shaky hands etc.

I do fine on oats. Would have only oats as carbs for a whole day sometimes and never feel bloated. But the oats doesn't do well for me in the gym though, not a great pump. I also like grits (maize rice for us Saarf Efricans), but it's very calorie dense making it a small meal in terms of volume. And it's a bitch to prepare.

all meals should be equal calories, protein stays the same divided into 6 meals, so if u are having 300g protein its 50g per meal, then you have carbs with 3 meals, breakfast, pre and post work out, then the other 3 meals have protein and fats and veg, pretty simple.

It's not exactly bulking calories, but I'm trying to pick up quality weight. Don't have an off season or on season, just keeping bf% low (below 8%) while trying to make steady gains.
