Alternative protein source help was created by Xrsist
Hi,

Can any of you guys please help here please. If I have to eat ONE more dry chicken breast, I will seriously loose it. I just cant eat chicken any more. I have steamed it, boiled it grilled it......I have basically come to the end with chicken(and lean mince too!!!!!!)When i see a chicken breast feel

Can you guys suggest any other food source with the same protein value as chicken(accept of coarse fish which I am totally allergic to. I would much rather drink protein shakes the whole day(I know that we need to eat solid foods and how important they are)but sheesh I mean really??????????

Pump thank you, But i know any meat. The thing is with all meat specially ribs and steak and so on, the fat content is so much higher, and i dont think you are getting (gram for gram) the same amount of protein. Now I could be wrong, in which case i will be pigging out on ribs and pork(jeeeeha). But I am looking for more leanish protein if you know what i mean.

Pork loin is extremely lean...

I stay away from pieces of fat... so if I have a steak I chop off all the fat, so I will eat sirloin steak.

What you need to realize is the little bit of extra fat from some meat is not the problem. The reason why people get fat is because they eat crap... Chips, coke, biscuits, cake, etc..

If you eat healthy and cut out that crap you will get lean... Very lean...

If you looking at getting to 4% body fat, yes then you need to be as strict as can be and eat to the T to achieve that. Is that what you looking at doing, or are you looking at losing your body fat and having a good body?

So as I said, you can pretty much change all the meats to what you want, make sure you eat a lean cut of meat with no fat. And have a healthy life style, don't worry about a rump steak with a bit of fat if you drinking 2/3 beers with it..

Do you get what im saying?

I have read that pork is not a good source of protein? Any other feedback on this?
I would also like some ostrich meat, but I think thats only a good option when staying in oudtshoorn :(

Guys what are you trying to achieve, do you want to be next Mr O or do you want to be a good health guy with a balanced lifestyle who looks freaking good and feels healthy and has loads of energy?

You need to find balance, stop worrying so much about 1 part of bodybuilding and get everything else right.. Mainly lifestyle that is what bodybuilding is, living a clean and healthy life style.. About being Fit and Healthy..

Yes pork ribs and sausage is not the best but lean pork tenderloin is. So yes m0lt3n I would stay away from some pork products but not all. As I said find a balance in your life and stop putting all your energy in making sure you have the best source of protein but you drink a can of coke.

Been eating chicken breasts straight for 2 years now, beef like once every 2 weeks, you just need to find ways to cook it differently. Try making chicken kebabs, a low carb marinade, DJs mince...use hot english mustard, there is a sugar free chutney now, soya sauce, nando's sauces, garlic etc...just be creative.

You make it worse by saying to yourself 'aaaaaaag chicken again'...anyways if you're on keto then dont worry about other types of meat containing more fat but pump is right, if you cut out the crap and your meat isn't as lean as you would like it to be then you still wont get fat, you can include the extra fat as part of your macros for the day. It's a lifestyle change and if you dont plan to compete then still live your life like a human being, don't punish yourself unnecessarily

1 week beef - sirloin/rump etc.
1 week pork - Loin chops.
1 week Chicken Breast. Curries mostly.

Beef/Pork with most fat removed. I cut everything off once on the plate.

I braai a shit load on Sunday and that lasts until Friday - entire family. Make Carbs/Veg fresh everyday.
I NEVER get sick of Pork. Many times more tasty then Beef.

And please, like chicke breast, you dont cook it until its dry. Stab it and if the liquid runs clear its done. Normally VERY quickly.

I have 2 450l LG side by side fridges. Nothing goes off in there. Air tight containers. Even the milk lasts a week longer than the Best Before date.

Pump your giving some seriously practical advice these days and it really made me for one realise that we're all maybe a bit too obsessed with eating "clean" and whatever goes with being a recreational body builder.

I was paging through one of my old Flex magazines the other day and came across a write up of when Melvin Anthony was preparing for a comp and Dennis James was helping him. In the first place what surprised me was that the guy was eating like 320g oats a day and in the one meal they were chowing down on ribs (no marinade and oven baked) but where the difference comes in is the guy does 5 cardio sessions a day and its all low intensity.

What a load of crap. Try it. Nothing will happen. Our meat quality is well regulated.
Maggots come from flies laying eggs on the open protein - in this case the pork that moron left open for 2 hours.

I once prepared meat for a braai and put the packets in the dustbin which is in a cuboard.
Some rogue fly couldnt make up its mind where to lay the eggs so just plastered them all over the scullery. Maggots EVERYWHERE. Now that was a disgusting sight.
